The Biden Administration has now determined that "gender affirming care" - including puberty blockers, hormones and surgeries - is a right of trans youth and "appropriate" and "necessary" for their health.
The Biden Justice Department will come after states that disagree.

The Administration now owns this absurd position at precisely the moment that many European countries (France, UK, Sweden and Finland) are backing away from these interventions, having examined a decade of evidence that *failed* to establish the purported benefits.

The notion that a child would be in physical danger from her parents for her gender identity, so therefore she tells 1,500 of her friends, teachers, administrators, classmates, and everyone else at school to use her new name & pronouns and they keep her secret - is nonsense. /1
If you thought a kid would be hurt or killed for being trans (or for ANY REASON), you must immediately work to protect the kid, involve law enforcement - not simply conceal the new name and pronouns from parents.
Lying to the parents is an utterly unsustainable solution. /2
In truth, a "Gender Support Plan" is obviously not about protecting the kid. It's about building a blockade against parental oversight while gender activists indoctrinate the child.
And here we have Glendale Unified school district in California, with its "Gender Support Plan."
"Sometimes parents are not involved...There's an interesting dance you have to play there."

"If the student does not have at least one affirming parent or guardian, then that's a very different discussion about what we can do in regarding privacy and public action... What we don't want to do is change the name on all records [so] ... it outs the student to the family"/2
"So on campus, we affirm the name, we affirm the gender, we affirm the pronouns... We make sure that the student has access to the facilities ...based on their choice. But we also have a very serious conversation with them about just being sometimes, sadly, /3
Here is a redacted "Gender Support Plan" in place in a NY middle school district, sent to me by the mom of a 12 year old girl. The school district kept this "gender change" secret from mom, and mom might not have known about it at all, but for the guilty conscience of a teacher.
For much of the daughter's 7th grade, the school was not only referring to her daughter by a boy's name, it was providing the daughter with "gender counseling" and providing this "gender support" - all a secret from the child's parents.
If you visit the school's website, under the "counseling" tab, you'll find this fun cartoon for students: sites.google.com/skanschools.or…. Click on the LGBTQ+ poster icon in the hip principal's office. It will direct you to the "Q Center" at ACR Health: acrhealth.org/youth-programs…
So -- Within days of my January Tweet, the "fact checkers" of @Newsweek and @USATODAY decided my opinion was "mostly false" and misleading ("missing context").
It is inexcusable that people like "Em" (quoted here) - and this journalist - would suggest to vulnerable trans-identified kids that my book, or its presence in a library, is a justification for self-harm.

Jack Turban lies that my book encourages families to reject trans-identified teens & says the book
"could have negative effects on the mental health of transgender youth.. including suicide attempts."
As writer & Jungian analyst @LisaMarchiano pointed out in my interview with her, "When you tell a group of highly suggestible adolescent females that ... they're going to feel suicidal, that's suggestion, & then you're actually spreading suicide contagion."

What's at stake in America right now is much larger than the liberal vs conservative agendas we know so well.
What's at stake right now is the rule of law, free speech, equal protection and the integrity of our branches of government. Some examples: /1
Facebook has a messenger service. It pretends to allow people to talk to each other privately. It's not supposed to be reading their mail and putting it through some sort of ideological purity test.
Officers are being charged with manslaughter - criminal homicide - in order to appease a mob.
As @AlanDersh has pointed out, Minnesota's manslaughter statute doesn't remotely apply in the Kim Potter case. /3
