Here is the House DFL tax bill #mnleg house.leg.state.mn.us/comm/docs/-Aii…
And the House research fiscal analysis house.leg.state.mn.us/comm/docs/6Yy8…

Bill summary house.leg.state.mn.us/comm/docs/7eNA…
I don't see that @GovTimWalz's rebate/direct check proposal made it into the bill (point it out if I missed it), but there is a rebate-style giveback with a far lower eligibility cap than Walz recommended and an adjusted dependent care credit among the income tax items.
There's also a "polar vortex" tax credit in the bill.
Another thing of note (in a 265 page bill there are probably a lot of things to note), the House bill would convert the current renter's property tax credit to an income tax credit, thereby getting it to more people. Many of those eligible now don't ever apply.

A new budget forecast is out Tuesday from @MMBCommunicates with a broad expectation it will show a healthy surplus, or projected positive balance in MMB-speak.

But there are some considerable caveats with this report ... 1/7
The November forecast (almost always published in December) has some automatic carveouts that, by law, will take money off the table before #mnleg even has a chance to weigh in. 2/7
Not even halfway into the fiscal year and a two-year budget that stretches into mid-2023, revenue was already almost $750 million ahead of projections. We know less about the spending pressures over those months but will know more after Tuesday. 3/7

The Draft Kendall Qualls committee now has its web site and its first video ad push draftkendall.com

@kentkaiser says a "significant amount of money" already raised or pledged. He wouldn't say how much.

FWIW, Kaiser insists he hasn't spoken to Qualls about it.
In a brief phone call Monday, @KendallQuallsMN said he's honored by the "good-natured talk" about a #mngov run. He declined to lay out a decision timetable.

"I haven’t even gotten to the point where I even know if there is a door to close because I’m not trying to frame one.”
I asked Qualls if he knew anybody involved or anything about it: "I haven't. To be honest with you I haven't seen anything. I don't know if there's anything to ask about."

Asked if he had any association with it: "None."

NEW: A Ramsey County judge has suspended Minnesota’s new law that changed the standard for peace officers when defending use of deadly force. The old law is reinstated until the lawsuit can be fully resolved.
Judge Leonardo Castro says the police groups who sued have both standing and reason to sue now.
“Plaintiffs need not wait for one of its members to be charged with a homicide crime before the question of the constitutionality of the provision plaintiffs challenged is answered.”
The judge says he will fast track further proceedings in the case and hold a hearing within two months.

He says after that he will reach a determination on if the law is unconstitutional and if so what to do about it to have some standard in place.

Paul Gazelka makes 7 on the GOP side of #mngov race
Quick takeaways:
-Gazelka leaned hard into spirituality
-He framed himself as a "conservative candidate with a track record" and a "collaborator"
-He says he'll abide by GOP endorsement
-He signaled support for new Texas abortion law
-He says D Sen Bakk may run as R, back him
Multiple Democratic group statements out of the gate targeting Gazelka on the pandemic (a Nov. party where a #mnleg colleague contracted a fatal COVID case) as well as his policy stances on health care, voting rights, guns and gay rights.
