This season, the Tar Heel guard has rotated numerous colorways of the patent leather classic.
Both the shoe and the school go way back.

1) In 1993, Nike signed UNC to a 5-year endorsement deal worth $4.5 million.
Soon, All-Star alumni Michael Jordan modeled their new Nike uniforms in a campaign for Foot Locker.
2) On January 31, 1996, the Tar Heels hosted Duke for an instant classic that came down to one point.
Both Jeff McInnis and Antawn Jamison wore the “Columbia” Air Jordan 11 prior to release, defeating Duke in the latest launch from Mike.
3) Years later during the 2000-01 season, Tar Heel hoopers such as Joe Forte, Jason Capel, and Julius Peppers put the “Concord” Air Jordan 11 Retro to work — reigniting the flame for the patent leather pair.
4) By the mid-2010s, @tpinsonn put the retro Air Jordan 11 back into rotation at Chapel Hill.
He famously cut down the nets in ‘17 wearing the “Cool Grey” classic and still plays exclusively in the AJ11 as an NBA vet.
5) This season, @caleb2love continues the legacy, rocking retro Air Jordan 11s throughout the entire tournament.
1) HEIR Inc., created by MJ and his son Jeffrey, made waves by launching its first NFTs via @MagicEden_NFT, Solana’s leading marketplace.
Named after MJ’s 6 championships, HEIR’s 6 Rings collection sold out its 5,005 allotment — half the 10,010 total.
2) People lucky enough to land a 6 Rings NFT are expected to get additional utility in “huddles,” which will grant them some form of access to NBA legends and current players, as well as exclusive merchandise. boardroom.tv/michael-jordan…
1) Built on Polygon’s blockchain, this user-generated NFT art project, dubbed Adidas for Prada Re-Source, leverages the recent Re-Nylon collection through crypto by co-creating a large-scale digital artwork piece.
2) Fans of both brands are asked to contribute their own photographs to the Polygon network with 3,000 pieces set to be minted individually as NFTs.
From there, the chosen photos will be compiled and reimagined as tiles by digital artist Zach Lieberman to make one massive NFT.
1) Per @JoshGerben, the brand has filed three trademark applications that seem to indicate a future in Web3, with plans to sell virtual shoes, clothing, and equipment — making them yet another footwear company to do so.
