10 days ago my son Gabriel 12yrs came home despondent. His passion for woodwork was not cool and neither was only having 6 followers on instagram.

But then something remarkable happened. I put a call out on twitter, in the hope of snagging him maybe 60 followers, and within 24hrs he had over 220,000!!! @ZoeTheBall was giving him a shout out on R2 and he had 20,000 commissions for bowls and chopping boards! 2/8

We've had MSM banging on the door all week, he's done interviews for the Sun, Indi and the Times and he's even appearing on Newsround today!! 3/8

But he was worried. He didn't want to let anyone down yet 20,000 bowls is a lot. Especially when you've homework to do and have a hamster to clean. So instead he decided to carve just one bowl - his #bowlforukraine 4/8

Overwhelmed by all the love, support and kindness he wanted to do something to give back to kids that really need it. So we've set up a Just Giving page to raise money for #savethechildren ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 5/8

Thanks to your generosity in just three days he has now raised £65,000 and #savethechildren have come on board to help us. We want to give it a big push in the run up to Easter when Gabriel will choose a donor at random to receive his #bowlforukraine 6/8

But in the meantime, to keep things ticking over, he's hatched a plan - for every £5k raised he will reveal one of his earlier creations. So now, for the first time in public, feast your eyes on this glorious set balsa wood drums! 🛠️🥁 7/8 #bowlforUkraine
