Idea: if parents feel their child MUST be exposed to pronoun theory and gender-changing etc, can’t we just have elective programming? Parents sign your kids up? What’s with the one size fits all policy and why does my kid HAVE to learn it? 1/- #dontsaygay #kids
If the whole premise is “children must be exposed to the different types of people and relationships,” then why can’t we set a positive example of that when it comes to disagreement? 2/-
It doesn’t seem so outrageous, let parents opt in if they want their child to learn it, it gives teachers the space to express it, everyone who wants to roll the dice on the long term consequences of this - can get to. But for those of us who are reasonably concerned? 3/-
If the message is tolerance - why is there no tolerance for difference of opinion? If you think your 6 year old need to be taught they/them pronouns that’s on you. My child? I know my child. I have been responsible for helping her develop her worldview since she came to be. 4/-
You don’t have to agree or even like every lesson I hope to impart on my child as I prepare her to be an adult human who functions well out in the world, who can thrive and be happy no matter what she decides to do with her life. But why do you get to stop me from doing it? 5/-
When did strangers become the arbiters of my parenting? Why do you get to just SAY my ideas about the world are bad and therefore my right to parent should just be revoked? Why do people who don’t even know my daughters name get to tell me what’s best for her? 6/-
You don’t know her favorite foods, her allergies, what she is afraid of, what makes her laugh or cry, what manners she needs to work on or how she relates to people as is. People who have NEVER engaged with my child’s energy or spirit, are now telling me I’m traumatizing her 7/-
Because why? Because I teach her to be kind and loving of all people but also girls are girls and boys are boys? What’s kind and unloving about telling my child - no, it’s not okay for children to undergo IRREVERSABLE procedures because they are depressed? That instead 8/-
I believe in other tactics for handling extraordinary challenges, that I want to talk about why she’s feeling things and how to come to real solutions that don’t involve drugs and operations, that she’s perfect how she is? THATS the unloving approach? 9/-
The tolerant thing to do would be to create a space for both worlds, there is no comprise there. It has to have room for those who want their children to have the option to change their gender, and those of us who have concerns about how their lives may turn out if allowed. 10/-
Whether or not I think you should actually be allowed to give your child hormone blockers, that’s my problem and opinion. I will pray for a world where science, logic, spirituality will prevail over peoples emotions about the issue on my own but for now 11/-
I just want teachers to teach math and reading. If everyone hasn’t noticed that’s something a lot of youth are actually seriously lacking today and that should alarm everyone far more than whether or not they can identify as a cat. 12/12
