In three years this went from crazy rightwing conspiracy theory to something every major corporation, educational institution, and government agency enthusiastically affirms
My friend The Distributist made a great point today which is that the recent charges of treason against anyone on the right who questions the regime narrative are falling flat for the same reason "The dems are the real racists" rings hallow 1/
When the left accuses someone of being a traitor they can't stand behind it, they have to throw the accusation and then run away, because actually explaining the charge would require that progressives answer some very awkward questions such as: 2/
What are people like Tucker Carlson or Tulsi Gabbard supposed to be betraying? Their nation? The left doesn't believe in sovereign states, borders, or national identity
They actively oppose those things and everyone knows it 3/
Everyone is understandably angry about this but it is in some ways fundamentally correct
The more “rights” the state can invent and accrue to children (think gender confirmation) the more it can expand its own authority and reduce the authority of parents 1/
The expansion of central state power must always come at the cost of the authority belonging to another social sphere be it the church, community organizations, guilds or unions, and local governments 2/
In the modern era these formally powerful social spheres like the church have become voluntary which has greatly reduced their power but this is very hard to do with family
Family is the final involuntary association, the last natural source of authority outside of the state 3/
For those chuckling at how far fetched this is remember that parents are already losing custody due to their vaxx status or refusing to affirm their child’s preferred gender
The state is already using politics as as a justification for taking children from their parents the only question is how and when they expand that project
