This tribe's diet consists of MILK, MEAT, and BLOOD.

They also happen to have some of the healthiest hearts on the planet.

🔴 THREAD 🔴
The Maasai are an indigenous, nomadic tribe who reside across Southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania.

Their ancestral nature will contradict everything you have been told about "proper" diet and nutrition.
The entire culture of the Maasai is centered on ruminant cows. The Maasai are obsessed with collecting and raising large herds of these cows.

Cows are traded like currency within the tribe and the consumption of their meat and milk is considered to be sacred.
The Maasai's diet is the exact opposite of the Standard Western Diet.

Their diet is focused on consuming milk, meat, and blood from their cows.

The average warrior drinks 3 - 5 quarts of raw, WHOLE milk per day.

Whole milk is 3.5% milk fat or above.
The Maasai prize Saturated Animal Fat in their diet above all else.

A whopping 66% of their total caloric intake is coming from Animal Fat and 33-45% is coming from Saturated Animal Fat.

This is contrary to everything we have been taught about nutrition.

Since the 1950s, the US has demonized saturated fat and standard US Dietary guidelines have advocated for refined sugars, grains, and polyunsaturated seed oils to replace Saturated Fats.
The USDA currently recommends that less than 10% of our total caloric consumption comes from Saturated animal fat.

Despite the US population obediently following these Saturated Fat guidelines, we are currently in a state of Metabolic Failure.
In 1970, George V Mann traveled to Tanzania to study the heart health of the Maasai tribe.

They performed 50 autopsies and 350 EKGS.

They were SHOCKED to discover that the Maasai tribe had pristine heart health and cholesterol levels.
They discovered 0 heart attacks and no heart disease.

In addition to this, Maasai warriors are lean, muscled and walk around at 120-130 pounds per day.

66% Saturated Fat for the Masai Tribe...

VS.

<10% RDA Saturated Fat consumption from our AHA.
Not only did the Maasai tribe have lower Cholesterol than Western society, they also had virtually no Chronic disease.

Contrast this to the US, were 7 out of 10 modern deaths are caused by Chronic diseases with 32% of US deaths coming from Chronic Heart Disease
Other indigenous tribes such as the Tokelau Islands and the Inuit have also thrived on a primary Saturated Fat Diet despite living in opposite climates.

The Tokelau consume 54-62% of their calories from Saturated Fat.

Coconuts are 91-94.5% Saturated Fat FYI
The Inuit on other hand, have close to 70-80% of their total calories coming from Saturated Fats in the form of:

Seals, Whale, Caribou, and Waterfowl.

The Inuit thrive from these high levels of Saturated Fat, as Vilhjalmur Stefansson noted.

Contrast this to the US Diet, where the average American consumes:

- 46% of total calories in the form of Carbohydrates (Primarily in the form of refined grains)
- 4 gallons of vegetable oil / year
- 130 pounds of sugar / year
Our Metabolic Health is currently a bi-product of these dietary habits. For those that are unaware, currently:

🔴70% of US Adults are overweight or obese
🔴43% of Americans have a BMI > 30
🔴The U.S. spent $190 billion on obesity-related health care expenses in 2005
I write this thread to encourage you to experiment with your dietary inputs and learn from indigenous peoples and tribes that are metabolically thriving.

We are constantly seeing examples of how our dietary inputs can prevent and effectively reverse these chronic diseases.
@drbrianlenzkes has gotten dozens of Diabetic Patients off insulin through low-carb practices.

@shawnbaker1967 and @kenberrymd have coached many patients to cure IBS, Crohns, and Colitis through carnivorous practices.

Diseases that were told to be INCURABLE.
Learn from tribes like the Maasai, Inuit, and Tokelau.

Experiment with your dietary inputs.

Keep a food journal and track your progress over time. Find a sustainable lifestyle that works for YOU.

You deserve to thrive.

In 2023, America produced over $92 Billion dollars worth of Corn.

It's also what is keeping you fat & sick.

THREAD🧵 Image
The US is obsessed with Corn.

Grown the right way, corn can be: delicious, nutritious, and beneficial for the environmental.

When mass-produced, corn can be: flavorless, unhealthy, and destroy what could be rich farm land. Image
The history of Corn:

Corn was created 9,000 years ago through breeding of a Mexican grass called Teosinte.

Scientists believe early Mexican inhabitants must have seen the nutritional potential of Teosinte due to the kernels that they produce. Image

The U.S. spent $4.3 trillion on health care in 2021.

We live in an epidemic of ultra-processed foods.

Here is how you have been lied to and what you can do about it: Image
Prior to the invention of food-like products, the men brought home dinner for the family.

Food was sacred.

It was treated with respect due to the man killing another conscious being.

Men suffered the mental burden, but what was the other option?

Part of being a man. Image
Around 12,000 years ago, we shifted away from hunting and gathering to permanent settlements.

We treated the land with respect and food was only plentiful for the most wealthy. Image

Since 2015, your meat has been fraudulently labeled a Product of the USA.

Here's how you're being lied to: Image
When walking by the meat counter at the grocery store, you will likely see the label "Product of the USA."

You may even see labels like "Pasture-Raised" or "Grass-Fed"

The labels are detracting from the fact that the beef you are about to purchase was not made in the USA. Image
In 2002, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) passed a law called the Country of Origin Labeling Act (COOL).

The law was part of the Farm Bill and was created to give consumers transparency into their meat + ranchers a fair price for growing meat domestically. Image

Did you know that McDonald's used to cook all of their food in beef tallow?

Then in 1990, a millionaire (who believed saturated fat was the root cause of heart attacks) campaigned for Mcdonald's to switch to a "heart-healthy oil."

Here is the full story: Image
Since 1954, McDonald's has been the behemoth of fast food.

McDonald's currently sells:

✅4,500 burgers every minute.
✅270,000 every hour.
✅6.48 million every day...

✅and 2.36 billion burgers every year. Image
McDonald's has 14,000 U.S. locations and is the face of American gluttony.

Processed meats, sugars, oils & convenience are the epitome of the Mcdonald's brand.

But what if this was not always the case? What if there was a world that existed where Mcdonald's was healthy? Image
