Putin propagandists/apologists are claiming that the angle of the Tochka-U missile that hit a crowd of refugees this morning proves that it was fired by Ukraine.
The engine of a Tochka-U separates from the warhead at 2km and freefalls from there. The direction is random after 2km
I initially posted a geolocation that included a mention of the angle that we saw, as that is a technique we can use for smaller-range indirect fire incidents. I was told that it was a useless technique for missiles like this.
The analysis above also shows that the engine doesn't necessarily fall short of the main impact site and can't be analysed that way. In the above example, the missile was fired from the North but the engine fell the West of the cluster impacts.

Putin's War - The Daily Ukraine Map Brief - April 8th.
Russian withdrawal from the North is complete, the region is under full Ukrainian control.
Ukrainian gains at Kreminna, Malynivka and Osokorivka
A number of non-genuine (new info) changes are detailed below.
Russia has also increased its presence between Crimea and the Dnipro river, setting up checkpoints around Nyzhni Sirohozy.
Other changes:
Russia controls more of the forest West of Izyum and is able to launch attacks on the Balakliya-Hrushuvakha road;
Russia controls more of Rubizhne than previously thought;
Russia controls the Novotoshkivske/Zholobok area on the outskirts of the Donbas;
...
This morning, the Russian military fired a guided ballistic missile at a train station full of civilians fleeing clashes, killing at least 30 people in an obvious war crime.
Russian soldiers had written "за детей" on the missile, meaning "for the children".
Inhuman.
Russia's obvious war crimes in this war have escalated over the past few weeks, to the point that it is obvious that a major part of their strategy has become to terrorise the civilian population of Ukraine, a strategy all too familiar if you watched their actions in Syria.
There's a whole industry of Western propagandists on this site who have made it their mission to deny, white-wash and excuse these terrors. I cannot even articulate how scum each and every one of those people are. There are not words to describe a life that low and disgusting.
Putin's War - Ukraine Daily Map Briefing - April 6th.
Russia's withdrawal from the North is nearly complete.
The first map, in yellow, shows territory recaptured by Ukraine.
Slight Russian gains around Izyum & Popasna.
Slight Ukrainian gains in Kherson Oblast.

The caption in the 3rd image should read "April 6th" not April 5th.
This video shows the progress of Ukraine's gains around Northern Ukraine, as Russia has withdrawn troops from the area.
Last August, a man stabbed his two children through the heart because he believed they had been infected with 'serpent-DNA' after being radicalised by David Icke's conspiracy theories.
After that, @amrwaked and @AJEnglish decided that Icke was worth interviewing and platforming.
@amrwaked@AJEnglish The murderer told the FBI that he first started believing the conspiracy theory through Icke's Twitter account. This 'documentary' will now be effectively channeling people towards the same name and Twitter account that convinced a man to stab his own children to death.
@amrwaked@AJEnglish No one who worked on this conspiratorial junk should be allowed to keep working for al-Jazeera if the network wants to maintain any credibility, and probably should stop calling themselves journalists.
Putin's War - The Ukraine Daily Map Briefing - April 5th.
Russia's withdrawal from north Ukraine is nearly complete.
🇷🇺 gains from the Donbas & Izyum.
🇺🇦 gains in Kherson.
4th map shows territory recaptured by Ukraine (in yellow).
Download data: mega.nz/file/TNISFDYa#…
The downloadable data this time includes polygons of the recaptured territory, as used by the Financial Times in this map
I have done my best to work out where Ukrainian forces have entered the territory that Russia has withdrawn from across Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy, but it is worth noting that this is preliminary info and may not be a complete map of where Ukrainian forces have reached.
Putin's War - The Daily Brief - March 31
5 weeks ago, Russia invaded Ukraine. After some initial gains, their progress rapidly slowed. Now, every day for the past week, Ukraine has retaken more territory than it's lost.
See this thread for a series of maps and downloadable data.
To highlight the significance of the past week, here is a gif showing changes compared to a similar map I made last week. All the areas circled in blue are where Ukrainian forces have gained territory, in red shows where Russian forces have.
(ignore the changing colour scale)
These maps show the forward line of Russia's troops. A significant portion of the land behind these lines remains outside of what I would define as their firm control. See this map below for a more detailed map of territory under firm Russian (red) and Ukrainian (blue) control.
