I want to tell a quick story from something that happened when I went door knocking.
I always pass out flyers displaying my big-3 policy proposals. I usually hit every single door on a street to make sure I've talked to everyone.
That includes diehard Trump supporters.

As a Democrat I know they may not agree with everything I have to say, but I also know many of them where I live were former Democrats.
So I saw a house with dozens of anti-Biden flags, "FJB" signs, the whole 9 yards.
I'm not deterred - not even a little.
I walk up! 2/6
There is a small dog in the yard barking at me like crazy. So the guy living there saw me walking up.
The garage door opened and he was wearing a "FJB" shirt 👕- this man LIVED this life.
I go through my 30 sec script "Hi I'm Eric Jones, running for Congress blah blah" 3/6
But my main pitch is my flyer. Before I can hand it over he looks at me suspiciously and asks "What party are you with?"
"Democrat, sir."
He moves back a few inches and gestures around asking "Didn't you see all of this?"
I had. I definitely had. But I leaned in and said 4/6
"Yes sir I did, but if I win this race I'll be representing everyone in my district, not just folks in my party. That means I need to take everyone's concerns into consideration."
And then the craziest thing happened.
He thought about it a sec and said "You know what..." 5/6
"...let me get one of those flyers."
Now I don't know if I won that man's vote, but I can be certain I won that man's respect.
We need to talk to the other side more often. Otherwise Fox News+ will tell them about us, and they won't tell a flattering tale. #OH06#USA
