Last week I attended a *superb* event hosted by @genspect called TRANS: A Closer Look, a symposium for colleges. I was unable to stay for the entire presentation, but what I took away from it needs to be shared, especially with parents.1/
First, here are some slides related to the evolution of treatment for gender dysphoria. So if anyone tries to tell you this is how it was always done, that is false. Demand evidence in support of the rebranding, esp. b/c of the politicization of it...2/
Where did the "Affirmative Model" come from, and what is the background on the current ROGD crisis:
/3
#FACTS you need on gender dysphoria, facts the Biden Administration demands be hidden from you, so the media assiduously hides them, and then K12 education acts in opposition to them (whether it's intention on all their parts or not, I cannot say; could be ignorance). 4/
More #FACTS about gender dysphoria parents need to know. This is also why we MUST, if the goal is "DO NO HARM," demand (in the strongest terms, litigiously and legislatively), there. be protections for MINOR children against the current "Affirmative" model. 5/
Still more facts, with some brain-science coming your way too. Please, I beg of you all, digest this, share it, encourage more skepticism and questioning of what's going on! Children with ADHD and ASD are at highest risk, as are pre-gay kids. 6/
More brain science. Those of you with teenage kids who've ever said it's like riding a roller-coaster every day, for about 8 years? Well that's b/c it is literally what's going on in their brains. You think this is a good time to make permanent decisions? 👇7/
I'll leave you with these final slides. There were. more speakers, but I had to go do my live show, and hope to watch the parts I missed when the recording is available. Obviously I can't give you the wisdom of the speakers in just these slides, but I hope...8/
you're inspired to learn more, dig deeper, challenge narratives and policies, and support the work @genspect is doing to educate, and promote rational approaches to helping kids and young adults get the help they need as *unique individuals!* /END
Teachers: we are getting perilously close to that time when it will simply be an intelligent thing to assume the worst of our children's teachers. I am on the verge of making that recommendation to parents, in fact. It's time to start policing your own.1/
I don't like saying this, any more than I like saying it to police officers, but you cannot sit back silently, or even join in a little bit with teachers taking adversarial positions towards parents and their children, and not expect this response. 2/
So don't be surprised if parents start confronting you directly to demand to know if you are discussing sex, sexuality, gender, or anything relating to their family with their children. It no longer matters whether you are in Florida, parents don't want you doing this. 3/
Dads? We need you. Love me the Mama Bears, but if I hear of one more Dad insisting Mom is "overreacting," "hysterical," or "going to make the kids weird/embarrass them/him/the family" by speaking out about the crisis in K12, I'm gonna lose it. 1/
Sure, not every Mom is on board either, plenty are worse than not on board, they're BEHIND this disaster. I stipulate the monster that captured Education relied on feminism for its fuel supply, BUT that's no excuse for men to be in the background. 2/
Perfectly ridiculous, as are the petty, juvenile, spiteful comments below the screenshot. Anyone who would write what's in that hypothetical note should be fired for demonstrating their inability to READ, much less teach reading. 1/
Where to even start?
The legislation doesn't say be rude to anyone, it says don't INSTRUCT them in these topics. Using correct grammar in the classroom is using correct grammar, it's not "instruction in sexuality." It's not even REFERENCE to sexuality, by their OWN definition 2/
After all, isn't gender and sexuality totally separate? That's what they tell us constantly, so the LEGAL (these are public schools), anatomically-correct, grammatically-correct, POLITE way to refer to a MALE or FEMALE is by gendered pronouns and titles./3
If you're wondering why we should keep calling them out if we're just gonna go build anew, the answer is simple: the battle we need to win is one of IDEAS. You can't fight dangerous ideas with silence, so simply leaving to do our thing won't help those who are clueless. 1/
And yes, there are MILLIONS of people still clueless (Twitter isn't real life, and most people *still* rely on mainstream media and believe its lies, or at least don't bother looking for alternative info). This is why inflation and war are convenient distractions 2/
Ordinarily, you would want to disengage and go "no contact" with abusers, but when the abusers in question are abusing children, smearing you for leaving their *warm embrace,* and working overtime to keep others like you HOSTAGE so they can't leave, 3/
Since the question is floating around ("Why are things escalating so fast in the Woke K-12 world?!"), two answers that seem contradictory, but aren't:
* They won the battle. They captured education completely, and are doing what they said they would. No surprise there. 1/
What looks like "escalation" to you is just the natural progression of the pursuit of chaos and destruction for its own sake. To them, it's just another day in pursuit of "paradise" on Earth.
BUT... 2/
* The tone most of them have taken dropping the "I'm just trying to help" mask, and assuming the "Stay in your lane, BIGOT" tone, IS the result of more and more people catching on, and calling them out. It's a combination of narcissistic rage at being seen for what they are, 3/
Quiz question 1:
Why would a public school stop offering AP European History, or even accepting credit for it taken extracurricularly, while saying "No one wants to teach a course about 'dead white men'? 1/
Quiz question 2:
Why would a school district insist they need to create "save spaces" for "underrepresented" or "marginalized groups" and their "allies" outside the classrooms? What's so "unsafe" there? Is the classroom teacher presumed yo be an "enemy?"2/
Quiz question 3:
If so many MORE kids are turning out to be mentally ill (anxiety, depression, self-harming, suicidal) in the years SINCE anti-bullying and comp sex ed became widespread, why aren't we considering the possibility that these programs are contributing factors? 3/
