Building a particular narrative is an arduous task. For if it is neither foolproof nor unbiased, it falls. That is what India is witnessing: the collapse of the secular-liberal narrative, which has too
many holes. But the narrative replacing it, the Hindu nationalism, suffers from the same folly too, which has once again been exposed by the decision of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation to close meat shops during this Navaratri.
"But the RSS has always nurtured a fervour of religiosity and has imposed a limited, sectarian knowledge of the Hindu faith on the entire Sangh Parivar. That is why the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) refuses to chant 'Jai Ma Kali' in Bengal and harps only on 'Jai Sri Ram'."
"it is not unusual that the Vaishnav culture of vegetarianism will be imposed by the Sangh Parivar and its political wing, the BJP. They are not even aware that it hurts Shakta Hindus, who ritualistically eat meat on specific days of the Navaratri (particularly Durga Navaratri)"
"Thus, they hurt their own cause: Instead of uniting the Hindus, they divide them by trying to stifle the minority denominations within the Hindu faith".
"What the Sangh is doing is undermining Adi Shankara (700-750 CE), who unified the five main denominations by combining worshipping of Vishnu/Narayan, Shiva, Devi Ma, Surya, and the
"devotees' ishta devata (like Ganesha, Kartikeya or any other deity worshipped daily by the household), thereby promoting the Smarta Panchayatana puja that gave birth to modern unified Hinduism"
"There was no question of a unified food system in this framework introduced by Shankaracharya, for what he brought in was unity in diversity. Over time it extended to other dharmic religions (that believe in dharma, like Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism)"
"The true Hindu tradition is not about coercing others or imposing one's faith on others, but rather the opposite. The Rig Veda (which was composed, as indicated by the astronomical positions described by later texts, more than five thousand years ago) said,
"Ekam sat, vipra bahudha vadanti" (Rig Veda 1.164.46). It means 'the absolute truth, or God, is one; but the wise men call Him by different names"
"If the RSS and BJP want to build a political culture based on dharma, which is at the core of the Hindu faith along with Karma
and rebirth, they should concentrate on fighting adharma, i.e. something that damages or destroys the creation, inclusive of the individual, the collective, and the earth.
"Instead, if they concentrate on the imposition of sectarian rituals and food habits, it will be a great disservice to the Hindu faith itself."
"India’s position on the Russia-Ukraine-Nato crisis has been rock solid since day one. It’s not our war. It’s not the Indo-Pacific. The United States cannot arm-twist India into unreasonably cutting ties with Russia. .
And if it attempted to do so, the US would only be shooting itself in the foot and losing out on a bigger battle with China."
"To stay out of the CAATSA sanctions and in a move that instilled goodwill in India-US ties, India gave up Iranian oil in its entirety.
Every unit of Vande Bharat Express is estimated to be 40 per cent cheaper than European ones. Moreover, the publication also said that the new Indian Railways braking saves 30 per cent of electrical energy.
The Saudi Gazette stated that Indian Railways’ Vande Bharat Express has given a new impetus to the Modi government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
You have respectfully addressed me as Uncle. Just took a peek at your timeline. You seem to be a nice young man. Here goes:
* I have no interest in diverting attention from the petrol price hike. Truly.
* I find many Muslims are very self-righteous.
They are very clear about what provokes them. So, I want them to see the other side.
The adhan is a good example of a serious provocation which has been 'normalized' over centuries, where the nature of your asserting belief in the One True God, is an explicit
negation of the beliefs and Gods of others.
* The hijab IS an issue
a)A narrative is being spun as if hijab is banned all over India, when the restriction was only in the classroom
b) The girls were obviously a front for @CampusFrontInd & PFI
"Wangchuk had said that he wanted to set up an alternative university in Ladakh. The goal of this unique institution was to be self-sustainable and provide free higher education to its students of the city, focusing on real-life learnings."
"It will be a university built with the earth and powered by the sun and all the learnings of the past 25 years will be used in building it.
It will be a university where people will get hands-on experience, where the school of business will run real-life companies,
* All firm steps taken in this direction were applauded & supported.
* Nowhere was this a support for oppressing ordinary Muslims or even creating a sense of insecurity for them.
* Nor was this support for obscurantist, frothing-at-the-mouth sub-humans, who say things, no true Sanathani can even dream of saying.
* The lack of harsh condemnation, followed by stern action from @PMOIndia, is not hidden from anyone.
* Whatever your aims political, social or religious, you have succeeding in dragging Sanathana Dharma into the gutter, allowing its symbols to be used while mouthing obscenities.
"the best Brussels can do is to find a way to simultaneously boost China-EU and India-EU ties instead of falling into the trap of moving closer to one of them while distancing itself from the other."
"Xi is going thru tough times domestically amid the fiasco of his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, intra-party struggles, protests in Hong Kong & increasing schism with Taiwan.
These are times when Chinese leaders need friends & could become cooperative in economic matters"
