Well, we are here again as I knew we would be.
When I wrote to you at the beginning of this scandal you responded that you wanted to wait for the outcome of the “Sue Gray Enquiry” before you made a decision around gatherings /1
in Downing Street and the Cabinet Office during a lockdown which affected the whole country and during which I didn’t see my 90 year old mother for lengthy periods of time.
Now the Metropolitan Police have decided that these gatherings were breaches of the covid rules /2
in place at that time and, therefore, criminal offences and, the Prime Minister and Chancellor have both made a decision not to contest this decision, you clearly have no alternative but to demand both parties (excuse the pun) tender their resignations to the 1922 Committee /3
at the earliest opportunity!
Failure to do so will surely undermine ordinary citizens’ faith in parliamentary democracy and the rule of law.
Please do not respond that now is not the time for a leadership election, quoting the war in Ukraine, as this is clearly erroneous. /4
It wouldn’t be the first time that a new PM had been selected at a time or war in another territory.
So, this is how this works! Tories are in deep doo-doo. The opposition are gaining massive traction and Johnson is really unpopular.
The opposition are (for some reason) seen to be weak on immigration.
They are actually no different on immigration than the Tories for many reasons like: International Law, Economic necessity and other trivialities which nobody from any party has ever explained to the electorate.
However, as they are seen to be weak, Tory Comms decided to announce the most extreme asylum policy ever (and I mean Nazi grade extreme, only just short of extermination), basically, a concentration camp in Rwanda (yes! Rwanda).
