Here we go again - #SaferNFTs.
I want this to be the only thread 🧵you'll ever need to not get scammed in the wild wild #NFT west.
Do me a favor and share this with everyone you know that needs advice. One wallet saved is worth it! Let's start: 1/13

"Never enter your seedphrase" - this 1 is easy. There's only 1 occasion where you enter your seedphrase, and that is to reset / restore a hot wallet or a hardware wallet. YOU prompt that restore, nobody else. Save the seedphrase offline (paper) NO digital files (photos, txt) 2/13

"Get a hardware wallet" - Yes, do it. Right now! Buy a @Ledger, @Trezor, bitbox02 or an alternative. Only purchase hardware wallets from the vendor themselves and check that your delivery is sealed without any pre-filled seedphrases in it. 3/13

"Close your discord DMs" - As a default this is a MUST. You'll get spammed with links, shills and all other stuff if you leave your DMs open. You can always add people as a friend to DM with them and have conversations and connections. Beware of impersonators! 4/13

"Don't click random links" 1/2 - This is an easy one. Don't click random links - really. Pay attention to scamsites using topleveldomains like .art .download .stream. Take the extra minutes to search the item on OpenSea or twitter for the thread you saw posted. 5/13

"Don't click random links" 2/2: Also, Private trading sites got rid of links to be sent around, if you get one of those it's a SCAM. 6/13

"Use trusted, bookmarked websites" - Sounds too easy? People are paying for google ads to be on top of the real websites to lure you to their scam websites. Pay attention for wording like looksrareS and check topleveldomains (.io, .org etc.) 7/13

"Mint only with new wallets" - This is an important one. You can create as much wallets as you like, if you really need to mint that 39173x copycat project: Create a new wallet, sent funds - mint. Keep those NFTs in that wallet and don't bring them to your hardware wallet. 8/13

"Stealth mints scream SCAM" - Recently this has been executed a lot. Discords got compromised, a "stealth mint" was announced in the server via link (even in official channels). Peer pressure is the most valuable tool of a hacker - triple check! Never mint anything first. 9/13

"Never send anything without validation" - This is for private trades mostly. Make sure you are dealing with a trusted party if you are doing private deals and that wallet addresses back up who they are claiming to be and what they're claiming to own (impersonators). 10/13

"Don't rely on PFPs and Twitter bluechecks" - Another recent weak point. If you get tagged by a verified / bluecheck Twitter accounts who tags thousands of people - it's a SCAM. Don't you think they could be marketing better if they are so famous they're verified? 11/13

"Always DYOR + when in doubt double check": It's my number one advice. Talk to your degen NFT friends, tell them what you're looking at or what you want to buy. This could've literally saved millions or billions of $ thrown out to scammers. Be vulnerable to trusted members. 12/13

1 last thing: Keep coming back to the list and check if you're in doubt if something is legit. Talk and communicate about things you're up to. If you were scammed: Don't go down that rabbit hole alone. Find someone in the space you can safely vent your feelings to. Take care! 13
