#Delhi As communal clashes broke out in Jahangirpuri on Sat evening, this mosque in C-Block was at the middle.
Sajid Saifi who runs an electrical shop here said those carrying Shobha Yatra procession entered this mosque&tried to hoist saffron flags after which clash began.
"Two processions went peacefully but around 5:30, people started raising slogans saying we have to chant Ram Ram if we have to stay in India. We ignored but we lost cool when they entered the mosque to put saffron flags," Saifi said.
Gauri Shankar, an E-rickshaw driver who was part of the procession, said that stone pelting began from above the mosque's roof when they were crossing it. "Muslims ran with weapons in their hands. We ran towards G&H Block and then Hindus retaliated," he said.
Wasim Qureshi, a resident shared this video and pointed at the swords in the hands of those who were part of Shobha Yatra procession. "Hindus and Muslims live in peace in this area. All these people were outsiders," he said.
Sharing this video, Sanjay Kumar, resident of GBlock whose Santro car was damaged in the clashes, said "This is how they damaged our vehicles and looted the shops".
Total 9 persons including 8 policemen were injured in the clashes. A Sub Inspector sustained a bullet injury.
