Binance is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world (by trading volume). It was founded in China, though it moved due to Chinese crypto regulations and is now headquartered in the Cayman Islands.
It's not widely used in the US or the UK due to regulations, although there is a Binance.US version of the platform that does comply with US laws, which some Americans use (except for in the seven states where it is banned).
The unfortunate emoji release happened on April 20, which in addition its marijuana associations, is also celebrated by fascists because it is Hitler's birthday.
Multiple users in Germany have confirmed they can see the hashtag.
Another common example of why people don't tend to use crypto to make everyday purchases is the 2010 purchase of two Papa John's pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoin (then around $40—fancy pizzas, I guess). Today those 10,000 BTC would be worth $414 million.
Then again, the likelihood of someone successfully holding on to 10,000 BTC since 2010 without losing them to Mt. Gox or any other of the many fiascos is somewhat slim.
Consider reporting @SkyverseClub as a fake account impersonating the real project (@SkyVerseNFT), to hopefully protect others from falling for the scam.
I don't recommend putting your money into the "real" project either, for what it's worth.
UPDATE: Saber, who provided the Cashio liquidity pool, have said they cannot compensate users. They urged the attacker to return the $: "accounts with over $100k are often users’ life savings on leverage, and many of us will seriously be affected financially after this incident."
