It's time for young people to take the stage. (š§µ)
This election is important. More important than a lot of people think. Young people can change the course of history this November.
How, you ask? (1/6)
I got involved with the local party last year. The sad truth here in #Ohio (and other rural states across the nation) is that many districts in state legislatures are considered "solid R" and given up on by election experts.
This can change, trust me. (2/6)
I called my local Board of Elections in #ButlerCo. Turns out, no Dem was running. It's insane that so many elections go uncontested every single year.
We cannot continue to allow Republicans to walk into office, especially in districts where they think their seat is safe. (3/6)
I decided to run because I care about my community. In Ohio, you can legally run at 18 years old. If I decided not to run as a Democrat, no one would have.
So, if you want to inspire change in your community (even if you're 18, like me): (4/6)
- Consider running for something! (@runforsomething)
- If not, work on a campaign!
- Donate, knock doors, make calls!
- REGISTER AND MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE
(5/6)
It's truly NEVER too early to get involved.
I believe young people - like myself and @samcaoohio will #FlipOHBlue!
