I have repeatedly written in my published work that Donald Trump has a decades-long history of sharing lawyers with anyone he has committed crimes with to ensure that they do not hurt him. A key moment today was when a Greene lawyer suddenly stood up and said he represents Trump.
This lawyer was so scared of the possibility Greene would reveal things Trump had said in the days leading up to an insurrection he incited that he tried to claim executive privilege on Trump’s behalf against Greene—who has no such privilege as a member of the legislative branch.
Many folks are asking me what the remedy is for Greene perjuring herself for *hours* on camera today.
The answer is actually not so complicated: as this judge can’t credit Greene’s testimony, he must not and should not rule she is eligible for elected office.
Period, full stop.
When you’re a criminal like Donald Trump or Marjorie Taylor Greene, you really have nothing left to lose by committing perjury—and in fact that charge is usually trickier to prove than your underlying crime. But here, the judge can just deny Greene what she really wants: *power*.
If there’s no punishment for a witness who acts as Greene did today—meaning if it doesn’t change how this judge receives her testimony and whether he chooses to credit it—there’s no reason this judge shouldn’t spend the rest of his legal career getting lied to by *every* witness.

(THREAD) There’s no right-wing intelligentsia—the contemporary American right is a kleptocratic cult of internet trolls. But it’s scary to realize that as Trumpism tries to squeeze out *a few* intellectuals—like Curtis Yarvin—they’re neomonarchists openly trying to end democracy.
1/ It can be hard for Americans to understand the stakes of the 2022 elections, which should never again be called the “midterms”—they’re the “2022 national elections”—because U.S. media is exclusively focused on horse races. There’s almost no discussion of the real implications.
2/ So here are the implications: January 6, 2021 saw a premeditated, coordinated, paramilitary attack on the US government aimed at obstructing the peaceful transfer of power long enough to allow neomonarchists to end our democracy. It *wasn’t* “the insurrection” in its entirety.
(LIVE VIDEO) You can also watch the Marjorie Taylor Greene hearing at the link below, if you have having difficulty with the other link I posted:
(PS) I will say as a lawyer that Marjorie Taylor Greene is currently testifying like.... well, like an insurrectionist. She refuses to make even the most *basic* statement against the insurrection or the insurrectionists, despite having taken a sworn oath to oppose insurrections.
(PS2) I have a number of thoughts here, but the first is the judge isn’t controlling this witness, who’s refusing to answer questions in a way consistent with the proper operation of a court. That causes me concern about the judge, as well as his sustaining of certain objections.
1/ I hope you’ll RETWEET the first tweet in this thread widely, as this story is one almost no one has heard and that very much deserves to be carefully studied.
It’s the product of a good deal of research and is *extremely* dense, which is why I say it may take days to process.
2/ I’ve frequently called Prince one of the most dangerous men in the world—and he is. So the notion he played a role in January 6 seems obvious. But the details of the story involve so many people and schemes (even a *major* Russia-Ukraine war element) that it boggles the mind.
This isn’t what any of the experts said—nor what any of the data show. And what’s incredible about this entirely fake news story is how many data points it cites and how many far-right “experts” it quotes just to make up and spread some new disinformation. foxnews.com/us/black-ameri…
1/ Here’s how Fox News’ disinformation magic is accomplished:
1⃣ Falsely treat BLM (a mainstream movement) and a fringe *slogan* (“defund the police”) as synonymous.
2⃣ Falsely attribute riots that have *conclusively been attributed to apolitical organized crime groups* to BLM.
2/
3⃣ Pretend that being hired by a far-right think tank to pen editorials for the far-right WSJ editorial page makes you an “expert” rather than just an obscure op-ed columnist.
4⃣ Attribute to such “experts” things that even they didn’t say—which were actually made up by FNC.
Elon somehow manages to at once have the political sophistication of a 9-year-old libertarian, the responsibility level of a 2-year-old Pomeranian, the confidence of Jean-Claude Van Damme, and a knowledge of digital culture that treats regular 4chan attendance like a Stanford PhD
I intermittently admire his audacity—but the fact that it’s so haphazardly directed underscores that he’s a megalomaniac unable or unwilling to listen to good counsel from any quarter because he apparently believes himself a sequined polymath from the 27th c. come back to save us
BREAKING: Charles Herbster, a leading insurrectionist endorsed by Trump to become the next Governor of Nebraska, now faces allegations of groping—assault—from 8 women.
(MORE) Here is the latest on Herbster, an ultra-wealthy Trump clone who has repeatedly lied to voters about his actions on Insurrection Day and now hopes to lead a technically purple state—Nebraska divides its EVs—on the strength of his Trump endorsement. thedailybeast.com/charles-herbst…
(MORE) Herbster is so close to Trump his campaign is being run by not 1 but *2* ex-Trump *presidential* campaign managers. Process that.
