#Adheeraa from #Cobra had a great CG design, Behind the scenes footage, astounding Music by @arrahman & most notably and importantly stupendous Lyrics by Pa.Vijay.
This era is missing the pleasure of listening to meaningful Lyrics of late.
A lyric should reflect the mood of song placement, characters perspective and more than anything else Wealthy Language (or) atleast basic meaning.
Nowadays, creativity took a big toll when it comes to lyrics coz of Celebrity dominant in the field.
A simple opening song "Pala Palakkura" in #Ayan had lyrics with full of philosophy and reflects the protagonist's carefree attitude. Whereas we have very mediocre lyrics for the recent mass songs "Naanga Vera Maari" and "Vaada Thambi"
"Cricket aadayil wicket ketta udane eduppa" can anyone please explain the meaning of this... in a sister-brother worship song..!
#ChummaKizhi in Darbar : "Naanthanda inmelu, Vanthu Ninna Darbaru" even a basic rhyming missing here.
Mediocrity at best..
Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, Vignesh Shivan & Vivek largely spoilt d industry with their poor lyrics in the name of "catchy-ness". That's y the new age songs sounds similar and never leave a longstanding mark in the hearts of listeners.
I agree, very very few songs were exceptional
One song in a movie for publicity sake is acceptable, but writing/singing every song feels repetitive & jarring.
Movie makers should opt for Thamarai, Pa.Vijay, Snehan, Karky, Yugabarathi or any professional lyricists.
Otherwise, music upto early 2000s only lives long🙏
