I've Kaggle-ified our beginner's guide to @ProjectJupyter Notebooks -- if you want to learn the basics of using Notebooks, this is a great way to start.
Notebooks are like the most powerful calculator you've ever used, plus a word processor, all in one! kaggle.com/code/jhoward/j…
If you're wondering, what can Notebooks do, exactly, then here's a couple of examples...
Our popular deep learning library, fastai, with over 20,000 GitHub stars, is written entirely in Jupyter Notebooks, including all the docs, tests, CI, etc!
Have you seen this great comic from @xkcd? It's from just 7 years ago, but it's already totally obsolete.
The field of AI has changed everything. A short 🧵 and link to let you build your own "bird recognizer" 1/ xkcd.com/1425/
I've just created a notebook on @kaggle showing you how you can create your own "bird recognizer" (or indeed whatever image recognizer you like) in a few minutes for free. Give it a try!:
The new fast.ai Practical Deep Learning course starts a week from today, with brand new material! It's much cheaper (previously US$2000, now <US$400) thanks to our move to Aus.
You can join live, or watch the recordings. Rego closing soon

BUT the audit was done when schools were closed. So they haven't actually measured CO2 with students present! 1/🧵 theguardian.com/australia-news…
Principals are being told that air purifiers could make air quality worse if not maintained properly.
But Prof Lidia Morawska says it's "strongly recommended that schools that do not have ventilation systems capable of keeping indoor particles down be equipped with air purifiers"
