Today, Dataphyte’s Media Fellows begin a two-day virtual training session aimed at onboarding and re-introducing fellows to #DataJournalism practices, and its role as an advocacy and accountability tool for socio-economic development in Nigeria.

#Dataphyte #Datafordevelopment
Training for the day kicked-off with an engaging session on Development Journalism: Data, Debts and Debunk.

This was facilitated by Taiwo Hassan Adebayo, Editor/Head, Investigations and Data, Premium Times Newspaper. @hazzanjustice

#Dataphyte #DataJournalism
The second session was led by @Jayangbayi, The Founder/ Publisher of @Dataphyte. It focused on The Value Chain of Accountability reporting.

In his exact words - "Accountability reporting must be accurate, independent, impartial, accountable, and show humanity”

#Dataphyte
This was followed by a third snap-session by @ayantolamaximus, Programs and Research Consultant at Dataphyte.

He focused on Data-led and Accountability-focused Elections reporting.

The Dep. Director of @CJIDAfrica, Akintunde Babatunde, also led a session on Data Sourcing & Landscape of available sectoral data. This was quite an interactive session as @olurunwababs and the fellows discussed extensively about the Nigerian data ecosystem
Today's training for Dataphyte's Pioneer Fellows came to a conclusion with quite an insightful session on "Analysing Data for Storytelling" which was also led by @jagangbayi.
Stay tuned for highlights from tomorrow's session.
