So here’s my take on Twitter, Social Media , @elonmusk etc. This might be a long thread…

Twitter vs GETTR, Truth Social etc:

I have always been an advocate for Twitter. It’s a solid, stable useful platform. It’s the “best in breed”.

I disagree with Twitter’s shadow bans, banning people for unpopular opinions, algorithmic manipulations , throttling, unfair verification process etc.

But despite that, it’s the best platform from a technology & potential standpoint IMHO

I did not begin utilizing Twitter for political reasons. I began using it as an entertainer… as a way to interact in a meaningful way with my fans & those I do business with.

I don’t think the answers are going to be found in GETTR, Truth Social etc.

First … all the additional platforms push us further and further into tribalism. That’s not healthy. It’s not how adults should behave.

2nd… they infringe upon #FreeSpeech too. I’m severely limited in what I can say, post or even link to on GETTR & Truth..

3rd .. The new platforms are glitchy , confusing to use, slow moving echo chambers.

I just want a true #FreeSpeech platform that isn’t predominantly political. I want to go BACK to a world & Twitter with some balance, levity & fun.

I’m not happy that @elonmusk bought Twitter because he’s some sort of right wing oracle lol

He’s basically a libertarian. He’s “left” on some issues, centrist on some issues & “right” on some issues.

I like that. It’s how a country as diverse & large as ours should be governed imo

I thinks it’s how these platforms should be operating. Free & open thought /discussion.

You the people filter based on your preferences.

I wish the definition of “Private Company” were changed legislatively.

If you accept money from the public then you serve the public. You shouldn’t be able to be publicly traded & also claim to be a private company.

Then companies like Twitter, Facebook, Google etc would be held to the same standards of non discrimination as government entities.
