@ProfNawangwe :Today’s topic “Economic Recovery and Resilience in a post-covid-19 world – the role of Higher Education Institutions” is a timely reminder of the place that institutions such as Makerere hold in the grand scheme of supporting national development priorities.
At the time of formulating the Makerere University Strategic Plan 2020-2030, our environment was characterized by globalization, climate change, high unemployment and the emergence of new communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Hon Mulimba: Following the opening of resident missions in each other's capitals in 2010 and 2011, the relationship between Uganda and Türkiye has grown from strength to strength.
Hon Mulimba: The relations between the two countries are regulated by cooperation frameworks in the areas which include Trade and Tourism, Military and Defense, Security, Energy, Education, and Parliamentary democracy.
In her welcome remarks, Her Excellency Nusura Tiperu Omar welcomed the guests to the coffee tasting/cupping session and highlighted that Coffee is one of Uganda’s main cash crops and the biggest foreign exchange earner being among the top five products exported from Uganda.
Coffee accounts for about 13-15% of total export earnings and is the second highest foreign exchange earner for the country.
Amb. Tiperu reiterated that this event underscoring that the event is in line Ministry / Embassy’s policy to promote commercial and Economic diplomacy to enhance bilateral trade between Uganda and Turkey.
The Embassy of the Republic Uganda in Ankara led by H.E. @NusuraTiperu2,Uganda's Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Turkey in conjunction with the @UgandaMFA Headquarters, and @CoffeeUganda held a Coffee Cupping and Tasting Session at Walker's Coffee House in Ankara.
The event which was held on Sunday 16th October 2022 as one of the activities the Embassy undertook to commemorate Uganda's 60th Independence Anniversary.
