Diane, ever wondered why it is important to keep your life private?
It is as important as having your own name. Sadly, we live in a world where we all want to be seen, heard and known, nevertheless we must learn to keep our lives private. It is called private life for a reason because it isn't expected to be public.
Once you make your life public, you lose your right to be upset about public opinion, trolls, and the likes when they come after you. People will only become aware of what you give them access to.
As much as you want to carry people along on your journey, just remember that it is the people who know you the most, that hurt you the most and cause you the most pain.
In the ancient text, the Rabbi encouraged his disciples that a man's life does not consist of the things he possesses. Hence, irrespective of who you become, have and do, keep your life private. There are things that should never be in public domain about your life.
Keep your life private doesn't mean you should make your social media accounts private, just be deliberate and intentional about what you share about yourself online.
The craze for online validation is on an all time high and some people now live their lives for the "likes", "shares", "comments" and "follows". You must understand that it is your life and it doesn't have to be on display for everyone's opinion.
Diane, a private life is easy contrary to how many think it is difficult. You don't have to take everything about your life to the world. Unfortunately, the world doesn't care you will just be another trending topic for the next 24 hours and that's all.
The trend may pass but the trauma and hurt will last longer. Besides there are hardly ever any lasting solution from the public to your private struggles. Keep your life private, if and when you have issues, take it to God and leave it there.
God already invites you to cast all your cares on him for he cares for you tenderly and affectionately. So instead of taking to social media, take it to the throne of grace where you will obtain mercy and find help in times of need.
