Since this is for “Dr”, those of us “unlettered” like my humble self are of the opinion that the problem isn’t about ASUU & govt so your protest should rather focus on educational reform
It’s rather unfortunate that none of the contributors have made any reference to the contents of the ASUU and FGN
Lecturers on the space are lamenting inadequate staff in their depts when there’s defined no of academic personnel required in each dept for accreditation
So who were the people that accredited the course?
Considering the quality of submissions of most of the lecturers in this space, it’s obvious that as a matter of national emergency that the entire universities need to be shut down for serious reforms
“This nation owes a debt of gratitude to #ASUU.. strike shouldn’t be called off until govt accepts.. The goal for ending the strike shouldn’t be to save parents or take pity on students or save lecturers’ jobs or graduate students: it’s to save the university- #AdamuAdamu
“Given importance of constitutional stipulations..an ex A.G in Old Western State 🇳🇬 who later rose to be Sec-Gen of the Council, Dr. Lateef Adegbite, was appointed Chairman of Committee which drafted the Constitution of the apex Islamic body”@AbdulMahmud01
while fmr #Sultan of #Sokoto..then Sec-Gen of JNI, Ibrahim Dasuki was appointed Sec. The drafting exercise..in Ibadan..(witnessed) serious argument over office of President-General which the constitution reserves for Sultan of Sokoto believed to be descendant of Uthman Dan Fodio”
The Chairman was of opinion Southern Muslims w’d prefer an elective leadership while the Sec maintained the office sh’d be exclusive preserve of the Sultan. After several adjoumments & meetings, the Southern Muslims accepted Sultan of Sokoto…”
CAPTURE OF SOKOTO: “
As no reply had been received to the letter which had been sent..to Sokoto (saying that we had no desire to fight and inviting him to come to terms), a 2nd was sent in the same sense & to this an evasive answer was received. @CitizenPeper@EmekaOkoye
The force then advanced to Shagali &..effected a junction w/ Capt Merrick troop (abt 200),who had been in occupation in Argungu for several mths, acting 1st as escort to French convoys traversing the British sphere under intl arrangement & later as escort to Boundary Commission
Thus reinforced, the column, numbering 656 rank & file, 1,100 carriers & 25 officers, 2 guns and 4 maxims, advanced on Sokoto, where contrary to expectation, were opposed by a force estimated at 1.500 horse & 3,000 foot.

🇬🇧 decided to split🇳🇬 into 3 regions, with a Northern gov’nor in Jebba, a Southern gon’nor in Lagos & a crown colony also administered from Lagos. The dividing line was drawn by 1st drawing a line connecting rapids of Calabar with center of the town of Yola.
Then the boundary is the line btw where the 1st line crosses the north fork of the Katsina river to the center of the town of Owo. This is approx the 7° 10'N line..Note this is where the line intersects a river which runs north-south,the dividing line isn’t following the river.
It was placed at 7° 10' cos 🇬🇧 wanted to avoid drawing the dividing line down the center of a river both banks of the Niger must be under one jurisdiction on opposite banks, otherwise the admin of criminal and civil law will be more difficult."

“Leader of AG..sent (memo) to Sec of State.. (on) what he called 5 challenges..I’m concerned w/ only 1..which reads: “I challenge you to deny WesternRegion ve right of self determination & free to decide whether or not they remain in proposed 🇳🇬Federation
The reply..conveyed to leader of AG thro’ Acting Chief Sec of🇳🇬 by direction of Sec of State read as: “The Sec of State has directed you sh’d be informed any attempt to secure alteration of that decision"-“that’s decision concerning status of Lagos-“by force ll be resisted &.."
in this context I'm to observe any attempt to secure secession of West from the Federation w'd be regarded as use of force” It’s true (it) then went on to say: “If..has pointed out, majority parties in🇳🇬 freely agree.. on some alternative solution regarding status of Lagos,..”
