The ability of the media to twist facts to suit a narrative is mind boggling. What oath the students took at Madurai is what should matter, not what all Charak wrote in the 2nd Century. I personally think that we should stick to the Hippocratic oath but that is just my opinion
But the students took an oath not too different from the Hippocratic oath, Now that the lies have been exposed they have latched on to the part about women patients not being examined alone without the presence of an attendant. This is widely practiced world over even today.
This is now twisted into "so you will deny treatment to a lady if she is alone?" or "will you allow a lady patient in an emergency to die?" etc. No one spoke about denying treatment at all.But this is all that is left to shout about as the oath that students took was very similar
to the Hippocratic oath.That is why no TV channel I saw actually put out the oath the students took at Madurai. That would have exposed them completely. All the attempts were to talk about what all Charaka wrote in 2nd century and not about the oath the students actually took.
Dravidian media machine never ceases to amaze me with their ability to distort facts and spread lies.They can teach a thing or two to Hindutva channels in Delhi. To repeat, Charak oath should NOT have been taken without State Govt approval bt oath did not hv anything Hindu in it
