Everyone knows #Ethereum gas wars are a nightmare.

But most brands that established themselves on Ethereum don’t want to go anywhere.

Ethereum is still where the money is, after all.

But what if you could have the best of both worlds?

Here’s how I would architect a huge land sale that takes place on @0xPolygon, but still settles on Ethereum:

👇RECIPE FOR THE PERFECT NFT DROP👇

Step 1:
Map $APE token to @0xPolygon
Difficulty: Easy. Just reach out to the @0xPolygon team, it'll be done in a day.
Cost: Nothing

Step 2:
Deploy ALL of the ERC721 NFTs for sale on Ethereum, with all the final metadata (not including reveal).
Difficulty: Medium
Cost: A few dozen Ethereum (chimp change for @YugaLabs)

Step 3:
Deploy an equivalent NFT contract with limited metadata (just tokenID) on Polygon

Then map your Ethereum NFT contract to the Polygon ERC721 token contract.

Difficulty: Easy
Cost: Basically nothing

Step 4:
Bridge 100% of your NFTs to Polygon, locking them in the bridging contract, and minting them onto Polygon.

You now have an @OthersideMeta land collection on Polygon!

Cost: A few dozen ETH
Difficulty: Easy

Step 5:
Deploy your sale contract onto #Polygon.

Could be a dutch auction or a normal FCFS sale.

Personally, I would recommend a #BidToEarn auction, leveraging @GBMauction's fantastic technology.

Cost: Basically nothing
Difficulty: Medium-advanced

Step 6:
Encourage $APE holders to bridge funds to Polygon.

Explain to them that NFTs still remain on Ethereum.

You’re just holding the sale on Polygon so users don't lose 100M in ETH gas fees.

Maybe offer some incentives 🤑

Cost: Bridge fees for users
Difficulty: Medium

Step 7:
Now that $APE is on Polygon, hold the sale.

Users win items without spending 2 ETH in gas fees.

Once the sale is over, users can easily bridge their tokens back to Ethereum and claim them for < 0.1 ETH.

Sold on Polygon
Claimed on Ethereum

...and that’s how you hold the world’s biggest NFT drop on Polygon, while still settling the NFTs on Ethereum, the value layer.
