So it’s clear for everyone to see, this is the agenda of the extremists who call themselves Republicans & even the so-called moderate Dems who stand w/ them:
take away a woman’s human right to choose, which disproportionally hurts poor & low wealth women…
Take away poor women’s human right to receive healthcare.
take away any possibility of universal healthcare.
take away living wages.
take away voting rights.
take away union rights…
take away any possibility of addressing climate change or paying off unnecessary student debt.
take away all the revenue they can from the government by giving tax cuts to the greedy….
Tax away any limits on militarism.
Take away good legal precedent, undermine the 9th, 14th & 15th Amendments, & let states discriminate in any area regressive majorities say is ok.
We are seeing a lot of righteous anger, as we should. But we need the same righteous discontent whether the attack is on Roe, voting rights, living wages, or poor people. We are going to have to flood the streets on all of these issues b/c they impact us all.
Some politicians were livid yesterday but haven’t been as livid on voting rights, even though the attack on voting rights is what creates the political mechanism for extremists to get in office & appoint justices who are trying to do this to Roe & to women. It’s all connected.
And our moral outrage must be connected b/c what regressive are doing isn’t even what most Americans want. (And even if it were, it wouldn’t be right.)
It’s time to fight not just for Roe, but vs all of these interlocking attacks. If extremists are cynical enough to conspire together, we must be smart enough to come together, vote together, & reclaim democracy in America.
It’s time for a meeting to launch a 10-15 yr fight to turn around what extremist have worked years to do. The unified fight must start now. All of us together. Everybody in, nobody out!
This is why the #PoorPeoplesCampaign is calling everyone who loves justice to come to DC June 18th & declare that we are going forward together, not one step back! This attack will serve to embolden & intensify our agitation for the cause of justice.
They are not attacking us b/c we are weak, but b/c of our strength. They’re trying to do so much so fast b/c they know the power we have.
The question is, do we realize our power? And are we willing to mobilize & make ourselves heard & seen, not just for a moment but as a fusion movement for years to come?

Justice Kentanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation happened in spite of the lies about her judicial record, the false questioning of her personal life, etc.
Men far less qualified, educated, or virtuous dared to question her & bring their small selves into a space barely big enough for all the ancestors who were with her, the brilliance born of years of dedicated study, & the fullness of the faith that accompanied her very being.
They tried to crucify her confirmation, but in their trying they exposed their own sinful selves. Now from the bench she will rule on the great principles of the Constitution.

🎶 Somebody’s been hurting our children and our planet and it’s gone on far too long, and we won’t be silent anymore 🎶
We opened this morning in Harpers Ferry with a prayer from two local West Virginia faith leaders: “Creator, how grateful we are to stand here on holy ground. ... Together we ask for a new birth of freedom, a just share of the wealth of this land for all.”
Katrina Fernandez stood with us—and six of her children—today to say: “I’m concerned that my children are being poisoned by a factory that’s allowed to just let chemicals go in the air. ... We can’t take any more stuff in our bodies.” #PoorPeoplesCampaign
SPECIAL REPORT: The Poor People’s Campaign releases “The Poor People’s Pandemic Report,” a generationally significant report that uncovers things that will shock the nation’s conscience and the political establishment. twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…
54 years ago, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was murdered as he begged this nation to address poverty, racism, and militarism. It is shameful that today we have 140 million poor and low-wealth people in this nation.
Even in a global pandemic, there hasn’t been a systematic assessment of the impact of COVID-19 on poor and low-income communities. COVID-19 data collection does not include data on poverty, income, or occupation, alongside race and pandemic outcomes.
