We lost another of the absolute greats this weekend with the passing of the legendary artist, writer and creator George Pérez. His career is truly a testament to what one can achieve in life when singularly focused on what one loves to do.
And George loved comics. (1/8)
Everything about it.
Every detail.
Every energy crackle.
Every brick in the wall.
Every character, both iconic and obscure.
Every nuance to every complicated costume ever.
Every creative partnership with his favorite collaborators.

And in this singular focus, George did it all. We creators may all have access to the same tools of the trade: pen, paper and imagination, but what George could do with his prodigious talents was off the charts.

Both the DC and Marvel universes owe so much to the pen of George Pérez. From his runs on the Avengers and Fantastic Four to his reinvention of the New Teen Titans and relaunch of Wonder Woman and of course his seminal universe defining work—Crisis on Infinite Earths— (4/8)

company. I will always remember him as the epitome of grace and class, and I remain so grateful that I had the opportunity to tell George how much he and his work meant to me when he last visited the DC offices.(7/8)
Part of the fun of watching the fans’ reaction to @SuicideSquadWB has been seeing all the art inspired by the film! (out NOW in theaters and on @HBOmax!) In that spirit—I sketched up this image of some of my favorites from this film’s cast…1/7
(and mind you, it was tough choosing as I just *love* the entire ensemble—simply brilliant casting).
But who would have ever dreamt to see Starro, TDK, and #kingshark much less the #PolkaDotMan ever in an epic, tent pole, big budget #dccomics film!?!? 2/7
And handled with such creativity, thoughtfulness, reverence and affection by the visionary and ever meticulous director @jamesgunn? James clearly brings out the best of the actors’ performances: @NathanFillion embraces his role as TDK with open arms 😎…3/7
