In his judgment striking down the #maritalrape exception, Justice Shakdher observes that Non-consensual sex in marriage is an antithesis of what matrimony stands for in modern times i.e., the relationship of equals.
Justice Shakdher also says “The right to withdraw consent at any given point in time forms the core of the woman's right to life and liberty which encompasses her right to protect her physical and mental being."
On the other hand, J. Shankar who upheld constitutional validity of marital rape exception held that there is no inherent fundamental right in the wife to have her husband convicted for rape. relatable to Art 21,19 or any other Art in the Constitution.

Legal Non Fiction: 1. Wages of Impunity by KG Kannabiran: The book contains essays on Civil liberities and human rights. A must read for everyone from legal and non legal background.
2. The Federalist Papers: It's a collection of 85 essays published in New York state newspapers in 1787-1788 by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay which encouraged the ratification of US Constitution.
