It's gonna be May 2020 what arrives #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery, and we gonna do a recap of all DC Showcases released so far! So stay tuned!

Its time to pay the debts, with me analyzing all the DC Showcases in celebration of the arrival of #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery. Lets do this!

Catwoman: considered the first (even if is not official lable as that back then) DC Showcase, 'Catwoman' happens inside the 'Batman: Year One' chronology, showing Selina in the current day facing gangsters who do human trafficking for prostituition. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

The short itself is really good and action packed, but to be fair, the main reason it is remembered is the extremely hot strip Catwoman does. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

This ain't definitely for kids, but the scene ain't gratuitious either, and showcase the character's best qualities. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

Written by the legendary Steve Niles, its on 'The Spectre' that DC Showcase shows its true power. Bring a 70's Horrorexplotation, we see Jim Corrigan in Hollywood investigating a murderer of a famous film producer. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

Niles gone full horror on this short, highlighting the brutal sense of justice of the Specetre with a ton of references and influences. This is one of my favorites, and extremely well crafted. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

'Green Arrow' shows the titular hero protecting a west-european princess from the attack of Merlyn the Magician and Count Vertigo; Most of the shorts focus on the action aspect of the characters, and this one dives in that aspect heavily. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

But to this day, this version remains the closest one to the comic books. Its action packed, fun, witty and not having afarid to throw punches. Fun fact: the story is based form a Greg Weisman's Black Canary comic made in 1985, but never published. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

A straight adaptation of a story from the classic Palmiotti/Gray run, Jonah Hex is western AF and brought a hardcore fan of the character, the great Thomas Jane, to voice him to perfection. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

Hex find himself facing a brothel scheme to murder people & take their money away, while was looking for a bounty. The story encapsulates why the Palmiotti/Gray era was so perfect, from all the aspects what make the character & western soo damn cool. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

'Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam' is the first time since the 70's what Shazam! stars a project outside the comics. Showing in a quick pace the origins of the character, as he face Black Adam with the help of Superman. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

For the fans of the character of the ones what just knows him, is nice to see the short introduce soo well the core concepts of the character, and how he relates to Superman and Black Adam as the possible paths of Billy to go. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

This also have my favorite version of Tiger Tawny, and the fact the comics never follow up shocks me, because is SOO GOOD. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

After almost a decade away, DC Showcase gloriously returns with a surprising pair: Sgt Rock and the Creature Commandos. is surprising not just to be the first adaptation of the character outside the comics, but to focus in such a partnership. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

In other hands, maybe this team-up would end horribly, but the short understood what make Rock tick and show why he is the the fiercest, loyal motherfucker sargent anyone, natural of supernatural, can have. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

Sgt rock show the horrors of way also a war of horrors what sounds pulp, but doesn't make in any moment the character pulp. This is still a straight, hardcore war story, but with... unique characters around. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

Sgt Rock is perfectly voiced by Karl Urban, with kick-ass designs by the master Kevin Nowlan. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

'Death' is a lot of firsts. First adaptation made with the character, first Vertigo adaptation of the format and first actual full-drama short. They have a gigantic task head and oh by, thank god they delivered, and delivered beautifully. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

'Death' shows the metting of a ill-fated, drug addicted, broke painter with his main muse. Facing his own mistakes, insecurities and mortality, JM DeMatteis delivered a powerful story about find value in life through art, [+] #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

what gonna punch you in the guts and make you ugly cry, HARD. This is, and i'm not kiding, one of the greatest works of DeMatteis and director Sam Liu. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

'The Phantom Stranger' works as a brother short with The Spectre. Is the last is basicly Horrorexplotation, the first bring Bruce Timm returing in full force to introduce the character in a style what can be well defined as 'Hammer's Scooby-Doo'. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

In the 60's, a misterious cult leader draws teenagers to his death, and The Phantom Stranger intervene to stop him to claim more lives, including a innocent young woman what tries to find her place in a fucked-up world. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

'Adam Strange' show the titular hero in its worst. Exiled in a different planet, with his wife murdered durring the Rann-Thanagar war, a drunk and beaten up Adam tries to find strengh to return home and see if his daughter is still alive. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

You cleary can see the Tom King fingerprints on this, but John Carpenter and Riddley Scott are also strong influences on this tale of a man trying to be the hero of before. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

But for that happen, he must finds ways to save himself from depression and hopelessness. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

'Kamandi: The Last Boy on Earth' is my favorite Kirby creation, and what they did on the short film is a soberb work of adapting the character and Kirby's style to motion. It just too fucking good. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

He highlights the world and the characters around, adapting of the most classic tales of Kamandi into a pitch-perfect adaptation of the character what would made Kirby proud. Also, DC instituion Cameron Monaghan, again killing it as Kamandi. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

Another pitch-perfect adaptation is 'The Losers' (the original version, not the Vertigo one), bringing the damn and damned war team to its inevitable end, in a perfect encapsulation what Silver Age comics were back then. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

It goes back to the straight-action-packed approach of the early Showcases, while sucessfully build the personalities and relationships of the character in a satisfying manner. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

OMG, Blue Beetle is a special breed. With a art style reminding Ditko, but with a twist of been a comed homage/parody to the DC Filmation era of cartoons, this is just straight funny as hell. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

This is the completely oposite of what James Gunn did with 'Peacemaker': is smart, know to reverence the characters (and in the case, the era is homaging) and make it work for the format, and is actually funny AF, [+] #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

without losing the quality and offend the inteligence of the viewer. THAT is how you do humor with the Charlton characters. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

And i just realized that i forgot to watch 'Death In The Family' XD but stays for the next time. Now,m the main event: #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery brings a surprising return of Matt Ryan as the DCAMU Constantine with him trapped in the House of Mystery facing his worst fears.

Matt Ryan still a powerhouse as the character, bringing either the horror and the humor of a man what just can get away from his sins (in metaphorical and literal ways), while still a damn fun bastard to watch. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

But the main thing about this short is basicly confirms a MAJOR rumor from past year: yes. animated 'Crisis of Infinite Earths' trilogy is happening. A Evil is forcely taken, a worst Evil shall replace, that's how the universe works. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

This short already surprising us with the 2 different animated styles of Constantine appearing, but the shocking end of Constantine begging to die while face he is responsable for the death of everything, everywhere, is pure Vertigo. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery

I'm curious when they gonna announce this, if at SDCC ou DC fandome (if happen this year). But the short itself is very cool, and remind us when more Constantine is fucked, more fun is to us to watch. #ConstantineTheHouseOfMistery
