ASIRT is the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team which Investigates events where serious injury or death may have been caused by police and serious or sensitive allegations of police misconduct.

ASIRT has jurisdiction over all municipal police officers and Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta, and for all complaints whether on or off duty related.

ASIRT is made up of 11 civilian investigators (ex-cops) and 11 current sworn police officers. Calgary Police Chief Mark Neufeld is one of the agencies founders.

Out of nearly 600 incidents ASIRT has investigated since 2008, only 42 officers have been charged for offences such as assault, dangerous driving, careless use of a firearm and sexual assault. the majority of these charges have been dropped.

The 2022 Provincial budget tabled in February of 2022 increased ASIRT's budget from $3.9 million to $5.3 million.
