It can be easy to let the anxieties of today steal our #Sabbath peace. When this darkness threatens your Sabbath, take refuge in scripture. Below are some of our favorite scriptures for Sabbath prayers on darker days. Add your favorites to this thread. #prayer#pray#Bible
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 ESV #pray
"So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." John 16:22-23 ESV
"You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:9-10 ESV

Here are 5 ways to help kids memorize scripture
- Use music
- The whiteboard is your friend
- Record it
- The trusty flash card
- Play a game
1/ Use music
Take a scripture and either apply its words to an existing and familiar tune or create something original and start singing it.
2/ The whiteboard is your friend
Begin by writing a verse on the whiteboard and read it out loud with the child several times. Then erase one word at a time, read the verse and include the erased word by memory.
The biblical notion of “test” (in Hebrew, nissah) refers to the idea of a judgment done to know what is in the heart of one being tested (Deut. 8:2; Gen. 22:12). At the same time, it shows the assurance of God’s grace on their behalf (Exod. 20:18–20).
