Finally got a chance to visit Chandigarh and here is a glimpse of this beautiful city! I'm sure there is much more for me to unravel and looking forward to it @ChandigarhSmart@itdpindia#cycles4change
1. Extensive Green Cover across the city is very impressive. Besides the benefits to the environment, for me it was a sense of calmness seeing the expanse of green. Reflects good priorities of city planning.
2. Beautiful Public Spaces at shopping centers and neighborhoods
Growth that still embraces people in their design
a few more glimpses
3. Cycling Paradise! Yes, being a planned city, did help on this front, but it's exciting to see an Indian city with good cycling infrastructure and invested in improving and expanding it.
Good intersection designs used by pedestrians and cyclists
Small design elements that matter + Good enforcement
300+ kms of completed walking and cycling infrastructure(more underway), a cycling policy under discussion, NMT Cell and Apex Committee formed, longitudinal walk and cycle corridors proposed, largest & densest PBS in the city and a powerful ICCC @ChandigarhSmart@ChandigarhCmc
Looking forward to supporting Chandigarh to further its sustainable transportation initiatives
The picture didn't do enough justice and hence a video glimpse of the recent Sector 17 Rose Garden Ped-Cycle Underpass that was a treat to see! Inclusively designed space that is organically attracting a lot of activities. Foresseing many more like this in future! @SmartBikeIN
As a passionate cyclist, it was heartening to see so many commuter, recreational cyclists across the city! Let's share learnings across cities and work towards creating cities prioritizing the well being of people! @miks_mix93@ashwathy_d@JsivaUrbantranz#CyclingCities25
