Russia has refused every peaceful solution to let them out -even mediated by a third part
It wants these soldiers dead (maybe captured & tortured first) because that’s the only “victory” it can claim -and that’s the only way to erase the evidence Azovstal fighters are not Nazis
But Putin does not want #AzovstalDefenders to be treated humanely
He wants them dehumanised, “nazified” to feed his propaganda
Corpses don’t talk, they don’t give interview showing they are not the evil he claims to fight
He sees their death as the only victory he can get
And the saddest thing is Putin gets support from people convinced Azov = Nazis (it’s not true!)
But, *and even if you want to believe it’s true* -What do we call people saying it’s ok to let the wounded rots to death? To treat fellow humans like rats? #SaveAzovstalDefenders

Missing some Tweet in this thread? You can try to
force a refresh
There you go, “compromise” crew, from US-obsessed Chomsky to @EmmanuelMacron
This is what you get with negotiations/“Give Putin something so he can claim victory unhumiliation“
The escalation you’re trying to avoid/aggression of a NATO country
It’s the effing plan
You can’t avoid escalation by offering rewards to a genocidal dictator hoping he’ll see them as a reason to stop
Why would he stop when brutal aggression is the way to get things he wants, while people who say he shouldn’t get what he wants still want to make sure he’s satisfied?
The only way Putin would dare to attack a NATO country is if he thinks NATO countries will shy away from retaliation
Asking Ukraine to reward him for the brutal war he launched on the country to make sure he’s not unhappy doesn’t put an end to escalation: It emboldens him instead
Russia could cut off its gas supply to all of Ukraine's allies immediately to punish them for not backing its imperialist genocide
Why isn't it?
It needs the money/dependency
This is a slippery, slippery slope...
Ultimately, Russia really needs its Europe clients not to turn away from the one thing its economy is based on. Cancelling this leverage can seriously backfire. aljazeera.com/opinions/2022/…
Humiliation in Ukraine weakens Russia
Empty threats weaken Russia
Actions that harms it more than the intended target while undermining an already scaled down leverage weaken Russia
The “Putin was a CIA plot to weaken Russia” rhetoric is getting closer and closer
Note that Russian TV has already started to dismiss this option
Remember it’s not only a propaganda tool, but also a tool to gauge the population’s feelings
One might conclude Margarita Simonyan’s “We’ll all die but we’ll all go to heaven” bit wasn’t that well received
The first “parental couple” therapy session is tomorrow
Social worker still struggles with the fact I can’t stand the use of the word “couple” and insist on using “team” instead -that I can cope with
After all
He only raped my kid, tried to kill me and harassed me for years 🤷♀️
The thing is: Justice concluded there wasn’t evidence (just kid’s and my testimonies and things like slashed tires/sabotaged breaks/years of hacking which could have been done by *anyone* -as it happens)
So I’m being asked to pretend nothing happened and work on getting along
I did not strangle the guy
Isn’t that “getting along” enough?
(ATST all this infuriating pain ain’t for nothing as the day my kid wants justice -and is old enough to be deemed reliable- the file is here. Plus the court ordered supervision forces him to treat the kids right)
Introducing the 'Russia fires' thread 1/n I did my best to class them by chronological order
There can be more than one tweet by fire
I may have missed some of them
This is a just a list of the fires, not claiming to know how each occured
TL;DR: There's a sh*tload of them
February 28
"A 21-year-old set fire to the enlistment office in the Moscow region town of Lukhovitsy. He said he wanted to destroy archives to prevent mobilization."
