Are you planning a trip to #Venice in the near future?
The city can be exasperating, disorienting, & challenging. It can also be the most magnificent place you will ever visit. We’ve thought about the questions we’re often asked & decided to write a 🧵with resources. Andiamo ~
"Help! I'm coming to Venice & I've never been before. Where do I start?"
Start with 40 tips to Explore Venice by @LaVenessiana
Iris is a Venetian culinary historian, writer, & expert on the Lagoon. Her tips are comprehensive & current, written for 2022. lavenessiana.com/40-tips-for-yo…
@monicacesarato "What is this stuff called #cichetti & why was Stanley Tucci eating it at 8: 30 in the morning?"
It just so happens that Venice has a cichetti queen. It also just so happens that she's just written the cicchetti bible, #AndareperBacari. 1. We suggest you follow @monicacesarato
2. We suggest you buy her book as soon as it is published in English (which will be very soon). Or now, if you prefer Italian. 3. Wile you are waiting for this ultimate cicchetti bible, you can learn about these Venetian morals of heaven here: monicacesarato.com/blog/where-how…
As to why Mr. Tucci was eating cicchetti at 8: 30 in the morning , we suspect that it was the only time he could film at All'Arco, which is always jam packed with people. Or maybe he just likes cicchetti for breakfast. We can't blame him.
One last thought about cicchetti ~ if this is your first trip to #Venice or if you've never experienced #cicchetti at its finest, we recommend the cicchetti blog tour with the queen herself, @monicacesarato . It is great fun, informative, & delicious! monicacesarato.com/blog/cichetti-…
"Everyone says we should go to Cafe Florian but it is always so crowded & so expensive, do we really need to go?"
Yes, you do. Where else would you have the opportunity to soak in the aura of a 302 year old cafe? lavenessiana.com/caffe-florian-… via @LaVenessiana
"We'd love to shop with Venetian artisans but how can we find them?
~ If you put #VeniceGiftGuide2021 into search, you'll see oodles of options to explore.
~ Venice Original has many artisans participating. You can look them up by medium to learn more about their craft.
~ Naturally Epicurean has lovely interviews with artisans on her blog: naturallyepicurean.org/blog/categorie…
We would like to add, if you visit an artisan, & they spend half an hour answering your questions, please make a purchase. They've spent time with you that they could've been creating.
"We're coming to Venice & would love to be able to cook. But we also know that Airbnb is ruining the housing market for residents. How do we find an ethical apartment rental?"
Please use @Fairbnb_coop fairbnb.coop #Venice#Venezia#rentals
@Fairbnb_coop "We're coming to #Venice with 3 kids, ages 8-14. Is there any activity we can enjoy as a family?"

We're beginning to wonder: Do all roads in #Venice lead to Monica????
"I'm fascinated by the ghetto in #Venice & would love to visit a synagogue. Is it possible?"
Yes!
There is a wonderful tour offered by @museoebraicove museoebraico.it/en/synagogues/
While you are in the ghetto make sure to visit @antichitaghetto to see their beautiful treasures.
oops....
Cicchetti are morsels of heaven, not morals (although that could be debated) @monicacesarato 's Cicchetti tour is an actual tour, not a "blog" tour.
It is Caffè Florian to be correct.
The web site for Venice Original is: veniceoriginal.it/en/ please forgive all typos
"I really, really miss #Venice. I don't know when I'll be able to go back. How do I keep the city alive in my heart?" @LaVenessiana has created an immersive digital experience, that will bring you back to the city of your dreams.
