unconventional tactics, hacks, techniques for business, marketing, productivity:
"F the tactics, it’s all about strategy bro" - that’s what everybody says...

And you know what? Everybody is right…

BUT

Sometimes you just need a good tactic…

To get back on the up and up.

Agree?
If so, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite tactics, hacks and techniques for productivity, business & just life in general.

Adopt some? Disregard all?

Your call.

But these are the hacks that work for me…
How to get up early:

Get a wake up light (especially during the winter months when it takes forever to get light outside - waking up in a dark room is hard/takes a lot of will power. Getting a wake up light illuminates your room like the sun and makes it easier)
Download the app Alarmy - it makes you get out of bed to turn off the alarm (you have to scan a barcode, solve a math problem, take a picture of something, whatever).

These two hacks will have you waking up whenever you want.

6AM. 5AM. 4AM.

Whatever.
How to implement new habits:

Set small habits.

Instead of setting the habit: "I’m going to exercise for 60 minutes a day."

Set the habit: "I’m going to exercise for 60 seconds a day."

(Seriously.)
Some small habits you may want to adopt:

• Say hello to one new person a day
• Write one sentence of new copy
• Read 1 page of a book
• Meditate for 5 minutes
• Send out 1 cold email
• Spend 10 minutes learning a new skill
How to break bad habits:

Write a paragraph explaining why you want to break your bad habit. Make it emotional and impactful. Write down what you stand to lose if you keep engaging in your bad habit. Write down what you stand to gain if you stop doing your bad habit. Read daily.
How to move the needle forward in your business:

Set themes for your days or set themes for your hours. You want to take the thinking out of it.

Here's how -

• Figure out most important tasks
• Batch those tasks into themes
Hypothetical Example 1: Monday’s are content creation days. During Monday, I pump out all the content for the week.

Hypothetical Example 2: Hours 8am -12 pm are ‘revenue generating hours’. Hours 2-4 pm are ‘content creation hours."
By setting themes and batching tasks…

You kill mental friction.

(If you jump from creating content one minute to sending out cold emails to hopping on sales calls to running traffic, then your mind is going to be playing catch up all day and not perform optimally).
How to build confidence:

Confidence = keeping the promises you make to yourself + saying no to that which doesn't serve you.

So start associating your daily to-do list with confidence building.
Write 3-5 goals down a day (reasonable, bite sized goals. You want to dream BIG, but take bite sized actions daily. Goal is to build consistency).

With every day you complete, give yourself a W.

And watch your confidence build.
How to control your energy levels:

Find something you do on a daily (i.e. opening a door)
Associate a high energy tactic with this action (i.e. standing up tall, deep breath, thinking high energy thought, etc).

Whenever you walk through a door for example, you engage in your high energy behavior. This allows you to center yourself throughout the day.
How to stand out in the market:

• Care more. Do more. Be more.
• Focus on killer USP/BIG ideas.
How to tell if somebody likes you:

Everybody likes you.

"But that’s a lie…"

"True, but it’s better to tell yourself EMPOWERING lies than FEAR-INDUCING TRUTHS…

… for the MIND controls your life experience."
How to talk on the phone:

With a smile on your face.

Person on the other end can feel it…

Through your tonality.
How to stay sane:

• Keep phone on do not disturb
• Take 1 week off after every quarter.
• Sell yourself 1-3 hours a day where you can live without restrictions (this is YOUR time. Block it off in your calendar. Use this time to follow your curiosity for it’s curiosity that keeps the blood of youth pumping through your veins)
• Get out and stay out in nature. Daily. Minimum 20 minutes a day. No exceptions.
• Do mind dumps. Get your thoughts out of your brain. And onto paper.
How to get in the zone/flow state:

Listen to the same song on repeat (i.e. lofi music)

Or use brain.fm.
How to generate the sale:

Tell yourself you’ll be okay if you don’t generate the sale. You don’t need it.
How to get in the mood to work:

Spend money on creating the most inspiring/captivating work environment you possibly can. Use high quality tools that spark joy.
How to get free:

• Make FU money.
• Throw your phone in the ocean.

Peace and love,

/tej

how to ruin your life (25 ways):
1. live on the side of the majority - the majority is almost always wrong about everything. Nutrition, wealth, relationships, nature of the universe, death, investments, God. Ignore the majority, find your own truth.
2. be quick to criticize what you do not understand - if your decisions don’t mesh with mine, I shouldn’t criticize, but understand. Close minded folks let opportunity after opportunity pass them by because they choose criticism over understanding. Mistake.

I started practising "magic" when I was ~17 years old after I read about Steve Jobs' "Reality Distortion Field"

Since then, I've gone from...

-$67 to hitting $50k+ days (profit)

If I had to train someone to follow suit, here are 7 habits I'd tell them to master (with time).
Habit #1: "Pre-code" events with INTENTION

Before I start the day, I tell myself it was already a HUGE success.

Before I create a new promo, I view it in the mind's eye as having gone as smooth as possible.

Before I do anything of importance, I pre-code it with what I want.
Habit #2: Script the year every birthday (in the past tense)

Every birthday, I fast forward the next year and write the script for it in the past tense (as if it's already happened)

Then I print it, stuff it in an envelope, read it a year later

And I'm usually living ~60%

CTA + Urgency/Scarcity
The first thing you should do when your customer buys from you is send her an email.

What type of email?

The type of email Gary Halbert calls the “thank you, please send more money” email.

Simply thank them for their order and offer an incentive to order more.

Mastering "FLOW" unlocked my ability to write 5,500 - 12,000+ high quality words a DAY and crush it as a copywriter.

Unfortunately, it wasn't easy and 99% of what I tried was trash.

Today, I'll share the 3-phase system that actually worked for me

Here it is:

🧵👇
PHASE #1: Find your "FLOW-BLOCKS"

Most people approach flow through addition. This is cool, but doesn't induce maximum flow.

Better approach comes from realizing:
Reality is always flowing. So if I'm not experiencing 24/7 flow state, then I'M DOING SOMETHING to break a part from the flow...

(Like a wave trying to break away from the ocean.)

Question is, what am I doing to separate myself from reality?

My Mindset For "Maximizing" Serendipity & Creating A Life Of Magic - Spontaneously:

(THREAD)
Here's the mindset:

"Quit trying to change your life. Instead, allow life to change you."

If you apply those 2 sentences to how you live, your life will fundamentally transform (quickly) and increase in serendipity (in ways you cannot even imagine).
Why is this, you ask?

Well, simply think back to all the moments that changed your life. The type of moment that fundamentally shifted something in you, so the person you were in the morning wasn’t the same person you were when you went to bed.

Now ask yourself:

10+ years of business lessons:

(Thread)
1. The market makes you. The market breaks you. To screw over a customer is to only screw over yourself. Do right by the market and sleep easy.
2. Build (or acquire) traffic before you create a product. It’s 1000x easier to find a group of people, figure out their pain point, create an offer that solves it, and sell than it is to create a product and then try to find somebody with the exact pain that suits your product.
