Really fascinated by the ART OF REINVENTION (feeding on ignorance) by KENYAN Political class.
A very short thread. 🧵
Andrew SUNKULI was chosen Monday as Kalonzo Musyoka's running mate. He was referred to us a publisher and a businessman. That's it. He seems to have come from nowhere.
In fact, my colleague @murithi_kenn caught up with him that Monday morning, and the chosen one described himself as "AN ANONYMOUS HERDSMAN," maybe, I'm LOST he said..smiling nervously.
Well, Andrew Leteipa Sunkuli, is also the last owner of KENYA TIMES, which in itself is another story for another day. But, journalists from KENYA TIMES describe him a little different than "an anonymous herdsman."
He oversaw the firing of over 100 journalists and more than 200 staffers, but the most important question is how he came to own KENYA TIMES.
Somewhere in 2008, the anonymous herdsman wrestled KENYA TIMES from another powerful KENYAN running for presidency in this election. (Another fascinating story for another day)
He is a former DANIEL MOI handler and perhaps his best description is a smooth talker and a very shrewd character. He introduces himself as a publisher, author and businessman.
In 2013 he stood against his brother, Julius Sunkuli for the Narok governor, it's not true that he is "an anonymous herder" and NO he wasn't LOST I'm KALONZO's command center. Here is the video by @murithi_kenn again. Longer version. #END

I think I have just found the BIBLE's most scandalous story.
You cant sanitize this. I have never heard this story anywhere.
"The Righteous" Prostitute. TAMAR.
**********A THREAD********
The first out-of-place ornament Matthew includes in Jesus’ family tree is Tamar, the mother of Perez (Matthew 1:3). If you’ve never heard of Tamar before, you’re not alone.
Tucked away in Genesis 38, rudely interrupting the Joseph saga, is the tragic tale of Tamar. Not for the faint of heart, her story makes one squirm uncomfortably.
The world is a different place than it was a few weeks ago. We’ve all had to make radical adjustments to our lives, livelihoods, and priorities.
Here's how communities without a SAFETY NET a grappling with COVID-19 pandemic.
******THREAT*****
Location: Korogocho.
Home to about 160,000 people, houses are usually very small one-room shanties made from pieces of old iron or plastic and mud. The floors are made of mud and there’s no running water or electricity.
Economic activity: Each morning men walk to the Industrial chancing work in one of the factories. Others have “small businesses’ scavenging on the city dump and then selling things they find, or buying cheap vegetables in the market and selling them on at the roadside.
Kenya has embarked on a dusk to dawn curfew to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus.
This particular restriction on normal life is abnormal for a particular group of people, we seldom think about.
This is a THREAD on what happens to STREET FAMILIES during this COVID-19 times
First, the basics. In normal times, the question of STREET CHILDREN is a gigantic 'problem' for Kenyan society, largely ignored, mistreated, and misunderstood. It's clear we don't know what to do with our STREET FAMILIES.
The magnitude of street families’ problems reveals as much as it hides in plain sight. There are an estimated 50,000 street children in Nairobi revealing failure of GOK constructing a state of SAFETY NETS. Here is what I found out, spending nights on the streets of Nairobi.
The spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) is the most serious global health security threat in decades.
With restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the virus, how will communities without a SAFETY net navigate these times?

As it so happens, riders are refusing to share helmets, Musyoka says this has introduced a new extortion scheme by police. They demand 500 per ride.
"Customers want their own helmets and to be assured that we have fumigated them"
