Qualified immunity is a Jim Crow relic, a form of “un-elected” judges legislating from the bench. The potential overturn of Roe v Wade shows us how dangerous that actually is. We need a meaningful way to protect our civil rights from the abuse of anyone who would violate us.

This includes holding public officials accountable. We’ve all read about Greg Forster, the Attica CO that made racist comments about the Buffalo Massacre, he has been given the power of the lives of people in shackles, just imagine what heinous acts he would inflict.

I’m extremely disappointed in the current administration,who has the power to do something but is afraid of the unions that have a loud platform because of money but they donot speak for the majority. Polling numbers show that 2/3 of New Yorkers support ending qualified immunity.

Ending qualified immunity is a winning issue. It speaks to the root cause of systemic issues. That’s why @Everytown and @MomsDemand have backed saying “police violence is gun violence” @AndreaSCousins @CarlHeastie @GovKathyHochul speak for the people #endqualifiedimmunity

You must condemn ALL violence. @EmmettTill was never given justice. Mamie Till- Mobley fought all her life to change that. I will not let the brutal death of Dante go without accountability and real change. If you don’t pass S1991/A4331 you’re complicit in the continued abuse
