Ian Duncan Chair, Parish Council-
Objection raised with Planning Authority in 2018, cliff unstable, hotel closed due to risk, works helped but not solved the problem. Not a sustainable location, caravans clutter that ruins vista.
@MarcusKravis says it meets all policies, property has an acre less of land due to erosion, until works done why would he submit an application, when funds allow he will make it eco.
Booking throughout the year would mean it’s sustainable, he’s made it look better.
@MarcusKravis says no complained when he got the gabion walls in place, sign on wall complained about removed, 1,500 nights occupied during it’s operation.
Gwil Wren landscape report and objection - the worst he’s seen, report landed today, planning policy states unstable land should not be built on. Fissures forming, hard standing assisting erosion.
Aldridge- lack of restrictions problematic because the nature of the buildings and the need to keep them warm. This site has no public transport so all users will come by vehicles, road has 7.5 ton limit. Planning inspector refused similar so proposes refusal.
@habgood concern, walked that coast, it’s beautiful so dismisses @MarcusKravis description as scrub, recent cliff falls show it’s not safe and not right for the area.
@LWhetlor knows the area well, knows the applicant, major cliff fall, West Bay park big issues, wouldn’t want to stay in the caravans, won’t support the proposal.

Voting 5 for, 5 nay.
Cllr. Coles casting vote, votes in favour for @MarcusKravis
Cllr. Aldridge point of order, chair can not vote against officers, is that not predetermination?
If Chair felt he has to follow professional advise, heard nothing to change his mind.
A wonderful demonstration of how local politicians can have scant disregard for the rules & regulations &, as long as you’ve got the right mates, you can do what you want without repercussions. Incredible, the Blue Anchor Boris must be chuffed! #caravangate

I see today discussions begin on the new authority but looking at the papers I see a glaring omission.
As the newly elected Liberal Democrats administration, you have the perfect opportunity to demonstrate to residents of this county that there is a better methodology for….

local governance to be delivered.
In order to do so, we must look to recent history for a lesson from the last newly formed council and how a glaring opportunity was missed. Luckily, we don’t have far to look.
