@fordnation If you saw the condition of my father’s room and smelled the ammonia from the urine soaked carpet and walker he had and witnessed the toilet he had that couldn’t flush in his room, you would have been disgusted. Step down sir. You enable devils. Resign please.
This hole was open in my dad’s room with a water heater behind drywall. It had bugs, gravel & black mould. His walker was soaked with urine. There was blood stains on the couch. Urine on documents in drawers. The room not built to code it biohazard to workers, residents and I.
Covid restricted my personal access to this room. The only time I saw it was to get my dad’s clothing for the hospital after he was found on the floor with a broken hip. Why use carpet in rooms for people using walkers? It is a tripping hazard! It cannot be kept clean!
My family paid $2,300 a month to keep my dad in this space. We never saw these conditions before Covid. This filth and the infestations we saw defies common sense. Citizens are living here. Employees work here. Now you want to subsidize those who facilitated it with my tax money?
My dad is now dead @fordnation and I live with the memory of that urine soaked, blood covered hell hole. Do not give a dime to the bastards who orchestrated this. Prosecute them and deny them licence to work. My dad carried this with him. Read it and resign please.
This is a photo of the working #ElectricCar car sold by Sears. They had that in 1908. My dad carried this picture in his wallet. He believed if we used it the world would have seen less war. He was an RCAF vet, Korean War vet and flight engineer for 47 years, 27 years with RCAF.
The man he was stays with me and lives on in me. I will not rest until the people at that facility are safe. Even after he broke his hip, they tried to put him back in that same room to recover from surgery. I demanded the final bill to end it. Months later died in hospital.
A class action lawsuit launched against Responsive Group Inc. for practices at six homes, including Eatonville and Anson Place, where about 60 people have died of COVID-19.
RGI President Bill Dillane had been a leading private long term care lobbyist.
theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…
The original owner of Applefest Lodge was loosing money and expanded his facility but there were delays. Then he died. Bill Dillane was the other signing officer and he was was left with only 3 checks from the dead man to pay the bills. can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%…
My family were never informed that the place where my dad lived was bankrupt. As president of the Responsive Group, Mr. Dellane oversees the operations of 14 long term care homes and 18 retirement communities in Ontario as noted here.
responsivegroup.ca/team/bill-dill…
I sought legal help but was told that because my dad wasn’t employed, (he was 88 with Parkinson’s) the cost to prosecute was not worth the possible settlement fee. The court costs would be higher than the settlement. The lawyer told me it wasn’t economically worth it.
I called police to simply view my dad’s room. I don’t know if they even made a sight visit. I am trying to secure the release of that information today.
I worked as a short order cook. If my work space had biohazards like that I would have been shut down quick. My dad’s room likely violated health and safety codes, building codes, conditions of licensing and approvals. Why isn’t this space being reasonably inspected?
Australia and Canada are both Commonwealth nations but the Australians have a much better management and enforcement track record at keeping elderly people safe. ifa.ngo/wise-words/aus…
It is too late to save my Dad, but I still fight for the workers at that retirement home working in that place of horrors. I fight for the PSWs, residents and their families. We need Ontario to remove bad actors and end corruption in the LTC and retirement homes system.
This was my dad before and after Covid lockdowns. The middle photo was weeks before he broke his hip. The last photo shows him with good care he had from Belleville General Hospital. His speech and memory came back. He passed away soon afterwards.
At this phase it was like a miracle. He called my mom. He remembered the phone number. He prayed the whole Our Father and joked and laughed with us, I visited as much as I could. His mind was healed but the body broken.
My father had a work place accident in the 1950’s, he died and came back. He retained the ability to go out of body. As his body broke down he did that. We could feel him doing it. He was out of body at the end. Body was like a loose tooth hanging on but he was already free.
I feel my dad to this day, when sunset happens I sense him. It was the time of day we gave thanks for life’s blessing at the setting of the sun, usually beside the waters of the Bay of Quinte. Our daily prayer time. We kept that way as Acadian Metis people.

The Russian mob and oligarchs exploited Canada's tax loopholes with YBM Magnex, La Hougue, and Bronfman's accountant Neil Baker. My advice: Please close the loopholes, tax the rich and give them inheritance tax and let's shut down the old boys club. @cafreeland @JustinTrudeau
