Firstly, this story should not go unnoticed. Let's do what needs to be done. Let's make @Google@GooglePlay know what WE as artists think about this absurdity and obvious corporate thievery. Let's not sit on the sidelines. side-line.com/google-wants-1…
@Bandcamp is an amazing space and provides the independent artist with a plethora of ideas and tools to make their creative voices heard in this tough 'music business'. Google is literally a sham of a business. They offer 'free' products to entice us but use this model for ads.
And now @Google and @GooglePlay have decided to dive into the artists' pockets and take revenue from their Bandcamp sales. Ten F@$#! percent. While this is in court, we have to not let this stand. For once, really, we have to start to assert our power as people.
And this goes for all of these corporations. Without people to use them, @Google and @GooglePlay have nothing. So... Do not let this story go under the radar if you are a musician on @Bandcamp. Post it. #SpreadTheWord and be heard. Let the music play!
@Google@GooglePlay Here's a link to the actual court filing. If you are on #bandcampfriday, this affects your art and your music. Remember, any app on Android can be affected by this, even apps designed for selling your visual art. Google is greedy. It's time we stood up.
@Google@GooglePlay So you don't care that most artists on Bandcamp earn their money daily, literally within hours? So long as apps use your shitty payment system? If that's not #monopoly, I do not know a better definition. #artists take note of Google's greed. #RT
You can add to the topics for tomorrow, of course. I always prefer your questions to my own rants anyway. Feel free to post questions as comments to this post. The stream is tomorrow at 8PM, Pacific. #streaming#Livestream#aboxlive#endpoplive
There are 45 of these left... What utility or access may come from collecting it? I'm not saying it here.
