THREAD ON ASSOCIATION BETWEEN SHANI AND SRI HANUMAN
To end ill effects of Shani, people pray to Hanuman who is the Sankat Mochak (remover of troubles) for his Bhaktas.
When Ravan ruled over Lanka, he put all planets in prison along with Shani so that he and his son Meghnad remained safe.
Then one day Hanuman came to Lanka.
Hanuman freed Shani but Shani looked at Hanuman accidently. This made Hanuman a victim of Shani’s gaze.
Shani, then, took refuge on Hanuman’s head. However, Hanuman started killing demons and smashed rocks with his head. This injured Shani and he started bleeding.
He came down from Hanuman’s head as he was unable to have any ill-effect on Hanuman
Shani gave a boon that he would not cast evil eye on Hanuman Bhaktas
To ease pain, Hanuman gave him mustard oil
So we offer mustard oil to Shani and pray to Hanuman to get relief from Shani
