This year, @TNedu is doing something truly pioneering, adding a Secondary Literacy Training for upper grade Eds, in addition to its well-reviewed Early Reading Training.
This is huge! Many kids get to secondary w/ reading struggles. Teachers need more support.
We need to keep talking about success in TN (IMHO the national leader for combining teacher support w strong curriculum) and actions in lead states BC other states must catch up.

Improving systemwide teaching and learning MUST be a goal of any school system with @NYCSchools’s reading and math outcomes, and Eliza consistently ignores that angle.

I’m here for these calls for curriculum improvement from state leaders, especially the ones who have taken clear, strong action to get their districts to stop using Balanced Literacy curricula and start using high-quality curriculum.
