....about it before their first experience so it is not scary or confusing to them.

We also talked about normalising Menstruation as it is a normal monthly experience for women and girls.

#MHDay2022

5/11
Openess to talk about it if they feel shy, irritated or stigmatised.

The need for boys and men to care for women and girls when they are Menstruating as some experience pain, mood swings and all kinds of discomfort. They need love and care at those times.

#MHDay2022

We also talked about padding a girl around you/your community, orphanages, IDPs who cannot afford to buy pads.

There was a beautiful poem and later a playlet on caring instead of stigmatising those who accidentally menstrually stain themselves.

A demonstration on how to fix the pad was made by two of the girls first from Global Globe Girls and Second from the invited girls from Agingi Community in Rukuba Road.

A neighbor of mine once gave my mom spoilt eba and Okro soup to eat.

This was when we had nothing and were both struggling.

My mom had gone to her to ask if she had anything to eat.

The woman told my mom that all she had was eba and soup.

THREAD

She asked if my mom wanted it.

"But you go fit chop my food?"

My mom assured her she can. Of cause, she wasn't expecting spoilt food.

When she brought the eba to the house in a plate and opened it, my dad felt like throwing up.

He was very upset.

2/10
"How can she do this to us?" He fumed angrily.

"Is it because we are poor? Or is it because we don't have anything to eat?" How can she be so cruel to give us food that she cannot eat?"

My mom tried to calm him down and asked him not to shout so she doesn't hear.
