This time can be different but we need every person who wants action on gun safety to stop waiting for permission to protest JUST DO IT and post about it.
We must do as many actions as possible to keep this in the news until Sen vote
If you are a student or teacher and want to walk out everyday this recess don’t keep waiting for permission JUST DO IT

Just a reminder- In Texas just like in Parkland the “good guys” with guns proved they were nothing more than cowards with guns AGAIN and kids and educators died as a result.
This narrative that everyone even law-enforcement with a gun is somehow seal team six is getting people killed
Important to note while there was no SRO in Texas there were 19 cops outside who did nothing. There’s “good guys” with guns prove time and time again to be massively ineffective at stopping these shootings.
It’s time for an movement of Americans not just as powerful- but more powerful than the NRA. Focused on a public health evidence-based approach to reducing gun violence. One that focuses on addressing both how somebody gets a gun and why they pick it up in the first place.
The movement has one enemy- gun violence and one goal- Peace. With people from all backgrounds and parties coming together to focus on reducing gun deaths together in ALL communities not just those in the headlines by focusing on what we can agree on and acting.
A movement that addresses how somebody gets a gun in terms of standards of responsible gun safety. Plus focusing on the Why- addressing poverty, lack of mental healthcare to prevent suicides 2/3 of deaths, inequality, hatred, and more of what causes someone to pick up a gun.
I’ve spent over three years now studying this issue every single day. Studying the history of American conservatism, movements, behavioral economics, gun policy, public opinion, the art of war and more. All while reflecting on my own experience. This time will be different.
Ok what do I mean by that? Let me explain.
We’re going to take this moment, take everyone in and build the infrastructure to substantially reduce gun violence over the next decade. The NRA is weaker than they ever have been and we are stronger and more numerous than we ever.
Even if we got a massive number of policies implemented through the federal government we would still have gun violence. The same way people still die of lung cancer from smoking. But like with cigarettes a substantial number less dying is good.
We all have the same enemy- gun violence. We all have the same goal- peace.
If liberal and democratic, engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and politicians can land a man on the moon I’m pretty damn sure we can stop our kids from dying and their schools and communities.
Ask JFK said “We choose to go to the Moon. We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.”
If we can do that with less computing power than a modern calculator I believe if we put our minds to it we could cut gun deaths in half and one decade. But like going to the moon, it will require all hands on deck. With hundreds of thousands of Americans working on it.
Let me be clear even if we got action action from congress- gun violence will still exist. No single policy can stop all gun violence in a country with 100 million more guns than people but we can reduce gun deaths and it’s still worth it.
People still die of lung cancer because they smoke but not nearly as many do. The march is the first step in the birth of a new movement for peace in the United States. If we all engaged every year at our state legislatures we could gun gun deaths in HALF in 10 years.
All of us must stay engaged when this isn’t in the headlines. We must show up at state legislatures and congress every single year and lobby for gun safety using the model below- Let’s focus on what we can agree on and act.
