In 2016, the ACLU proclaimed: “Amber Heard Donates Millions to Support the ACLU….” Like its ambassador, the ACLU considers "pledge" and "donate" to be synonymous. A huge organization that relies on actual money to operate would think that.

Two years after Amber Heard promised in a divorce judgment not to disparage Johnny Depp, she had no trouble telling the world she was a victim of abuse at JD’s hand. Here are the non-disparagement provisions she agreed to in the court judgment:

The op-ed was timed to the release of Aquaman. In a 12 December 2018 email, ACLU director Jessica Weitz told her team: “The goal is to get this out this week to capitalize on the tremendous campaign for Aquaman.” How does a superhero film relate to abuse?

Johnny Depp sought records of the alleged $3.5 million donation and was stonewalled. The court compelled the ACLU to comply, “unleashing a torrent of exhibits and testimony" of how the ACLU and Amber heard were intertwined. rollingstone.com/culture/cultur…

The ACLU now wants Johnny to pay its costs for producing the documents. It has the right to ask, but $86,253.26? Maybe they will accept a pledge from Johnny and call it even as they did with Amber.

What did the ACLU do to validate Amber’s claims of abuse? They must have known about her hitting ex-partner Tasya van Ree at an airport in 2009. It was widely reported. tmz.com/2016/06/07/amb…

The ACLU claims to support civil liberties. Due process is one of the sacred rights we enjoy in a democracy, but the ACLU made no effort to get Johnny Depp’s side of the story. They were happy about the $3.5 million “donation” and looked no further.

Has the appointment of AH as an ambassador brought “attention” to abuse issues.? Sure, just not the attention the ACLU intended. We are now talking about how men can suffer abuse and that we should not be so quick to judge those accused of abuse.
