🧵Many Dems, unaffiliated voters, & third parties are concerned about GOP using new laws for election subversion to exert partisan control over election outcomes. But they, (attention, Dems), need to take an honest look at their own willingness to subvert democratic process. 1/
2/ Within the last 96 hours three major Dem-controlled counties are ALTERING their already non-transparent election results, using insider information not shared with the public.
Their alterations may be perfectly correct, but how would public and candidates know and verify?
4/ Since Dems are doing it this time, aren't they setting a precedent to permit GOP to do it next time?

It is a core principle of democracies that ballots NOT be tabulated, reported, and results certified without extensive public oversight.

Don't count ballots in the DARK!
5/ GA voters must stand up to officials of all parties & demand they STOP undemocratic practices.
We need independent thinking citizen election boards, committed to law and election fairness.

GA county boards are far far down a slippery slope.
Rule of law tossed out window.
6/ Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb (at least!) all falling in line to cram down their results, hidden from the public. Fulton has banned the public from commenting in their meeting on discrepancies they find.

Dem Legislative delegations, --force a stop to this! Quit ignoring it!

Excellent reporting by @stan_government pulling together the many recent events re: GA's election security. Worth your time, GA voters!

1/
georgiarecorder.com/2022/06/07/new…
2/ He references the multi-partisan letter seeking hand marked paper ballots for the remainder of 2022.
Here is more information about that request for a commonsense approach.
3/ Stanley inserts the Tweet I sent informing voters of our request that St. Elec. Bd investigate SOS for violation of GA's audit laws.

Time for some independent action by SEB. Stop the conflict of interest that is built into the system.

Despite all the warnings that post-election audits are needed to help test at least some aspects of accuracy, SOS defies law and advice of security experts to conduct required audits.

See @CoalitionGoodGv complaint we filed with St. Elec. Bd. 1/

2/ 2020 law HB316 requires audits in all general elections after Nov. 2020. (There was a non-partisan "general election" for at least 85 judge races on the May ballot. ). SOS has just ignored the law to audit them.
3/ And.. he was required to conduct RLA in 10 counties before 1/1/22, and failed to do so.
And.. he was required to write a report to General Assembly about RLAs. He didn't.
And...he was to make a written RLA plan. He didn't.

🧵GA Voters, consider what is going on here.
Fulton Elex Bd. is meeting at 2pm today (Sunday!) to AMEND its certified results, and not permitting any public comments, even if public knows of more errors. 😡 And see more below...
fultoncountyga.gov/inside-fulton-…
2/ Cobb County had an illegal suddenly called meeting to AMEND its certified results on Friday.

@DeKalbVotes certified unpublished consolidated election results taken from questionable sources on Friday night, days after the deadline.
3/ I feel sure that there are other counties we have not heard about, given our focus on DeKalb this time.

This screams of too much complexity in the Rube Goldberg touchscreen voting system that is full of treacherous vulnerabilities and invites much human error.

Watching the @DeKalbVotes meeting to certify the results and shaking my head in dismay.

They claim to have done "audits" of the election, but now saying it wasn't REALLY an "audit" and public not permitted. 1/
2/Keisha Smith claims they did an "audit" of machines, but there is nothing that suggests that such an "audit" was done.

Chairman still claiming that these were not "tabulation errors," but only "reporting errors." No, that is just wrong!
3/ They voted to certify but talked themselves into doing so with a huge amount of 💩.
Voter confidence definitely NOT earned today.
I would bet that none of them have tried to look at the total vote counts---because it is very difficult.

1/ DeKalb Election Bd. plans to certify still undisclosed election returns at 5pm, obstructing voters' right to oversee THEIR elections.
DeKalb has been exasperating!
We @CoalitionGoodGv wrote again this morning urging basic legally required disclosure of vote tallies. ImageImage
2/ No one should have to beg a county to disclose the election tallies that they plan to certify! It is a very basic principle in democratic societies.
While the Bd seems to want to do the right thing when in public meeting, once it's over, they revert to old ways.

NOT OK! Image
3/ Something has to change for runoffs and Nov. election. This manner of conducting elections is unacceptable in any democratic society.

The board needs to use their authority to use their simple, low tech hand marked paper ballot emergency balloting system--without touchscreens
