#chaoticYMJ modern au where
Sic (i still don’t have a name for her yet) meets jc in high school. Jc is following behind ww/x, while ww/x runs ahead and becomes infutated with lw/j. As such, jc is left behind and alone.

He’s fine! He’s fine. It’s normal...
Well, sic sees this absolute grump kitty sitting in the corner of the library and just has to pester him bc “i can feel it, we’re going to be the best of friends”
Jc’s wary at first, after all, no one wants to be friends with him,

Only ww/x.
Sic simply snorts, and just sticks around jc until he becomes comfortable in her presence (sic: just like a cat 😃)
So, eventually, after many days of sic just chilling at jc’s table doing her own thing and starting the occasional small talk, jc takes the+

Initiative to interact w/ her bc “she hasn’t left yet, maybe she actually wants to be my friend” and so they really start talking, first about school and then about their own interests. Despite having rather different personalities, they have a lot in common!

Eventually they decide to meet up outside of their free time at the library. They go to a dog cafe. Jc is delighted!
Apparently sic goes here whenever she can bc she loves puppers but isn’t allowed to own one.

So they start meeting up, and sic even manages to drag him to some fun swimming/martial arts classes at the community center.
And jc is, for once, so very happy! There are absolutely no expectations and sic doesn’t push past what he’s comfortable with but also doesn’t +

Act as if he’s fragile.
And all these new things they do are so cool and there’s no competent (well, there’s a bit of friendly competition but nothing beyond that) and jc just relaxes in sic’s presence. And vice versa! Sic also has trouble maintaining friends bc+

Of how wild her personality is, also bc of the secrets she keeps, but jc doesn’t push. He just lets it be and she is grateful.
Eventually they meet CN and ZL at one of their lessons at the community center and they become a friend group. Cn and zl then introduce jc and sic+

To (Mad Scientist of YMJ (MS)) and their friend group grows close and solid. The last members are added during senior year when the Other siblings move into town from another country.

Jc has never felt more loved and accepted than when he is with them.
Sometimes they just hang out at one of their houses’ (never at jc or sic’s though) or by the coffee shop. Sometimes they go to places, such as the circus, or the fair, or the one time they went to+

A concert of one of their favorite artists’. (Jc’s parents don’t notice, ww/x keeps forgetting him, caught up as he is in lw/j and his own friend group (they are growing apart but that’s understandable. Just bc someone fit you like a glove at one point doesn’t mean they do+

At another) and jyl is focused on her own studies in college and trying to escape the toxic jiang home).
The worst thing to happen is at the end of second year, and it actually isn’t about jc.
Turns out lesbian SIC’s legal guardian is the head+

Of a crime syndicate, with a special focus on underground fighting. And LG (legal guardian) forces sic to fight in these fights, often resulting in sic having horrible injuries. LG has also taken to forcing sic to sleep with her.
Every time sic tries to fight back+

LG threatens to give her back to her horrid ‘husband’ whom LG saved (read: bought) her from, or return sic to her family, who sold sic to her ‘husband’ in the first place.
It was a horrid ideal which left everyone horrified, exhausted, and closer than ever.

Anyway, they manage to get it all sorted out before college, and the group’s idea is to all share a (large) apartment as they’re all going to the same university.
At first jc and ww/x were planning to share a dorm room, but that idea fell through pretty quickly+

When ww/x refused to even think about helping jc.
So jc agreed to stick with the group (and was secretly relieved, bc while he still thought of ww/x as his brother, ww/x was no longer his best friend) and so all was going well.

Until ww/x finally got to the university and panicked when he found out that not only was jc not rooming with him, but jc had actually signed up that he would be living at his own place.
Cue ww/x going into panic mode and calling jyl, nhs, lw/j, his entire friend group+

And eventually jfm.
Yeah, that didn’t go over to well. Jfm demanded that jc gives them an explanation seeing as jfm ‘is paying for his tuition/apartment/etc’ (spoiler alert, he doesn’t.)
To ram it all home, turns out the group managed help jc completely leave +

The jiang family, so when jfm threatens jc with disownment, jc simply replies “then do it.”
Ww/x is even more distraught.
Jc does care for him though, and agrees to talk to him, to explain.

“We grew apart, ww/x. It’s not your fault, nor is it mine, but we haven’t done anything together since the end of sophomore year. It’s alright, you have your friends, and a place where you belong, and i have mine. They are my home. I hope you enjoy the rest of your+

Life, but i don’t think it I will be part of it.”
And jc walks away from ww/x and to his friends who were waiting for him, ready to bring him home.

Note: the only reason i censored lw/j and ww/x is bc it could be seen as bashing, although that isn’t my intention bc sometimes friends, even bffs, do grow apart and it’s no one’s fault.
