Eijirou sat on top of the skycraper, legs hanging in the air,
facing the sea. As the most notorious undergroung villain in town, his eyes alone weren't enough to embrace the whole territory his clan owned.
Taking out his phone, he took a picture of the ocean; of the last rays of light dancing with the waves of the sea that were dying the sky with a warm shade of red.
He sent the picture to Izuku.
Soon he received a selfie of the man hanging out in the festival that was held
on the beach. He growled, immediately pressing the call button.
“Hi, Blood Riot,” he heard Izuku playfully greet as if he wasn't breaking the first rule of their agreement.
“Why aren't you home?” he harshly asked. “You know you must not go out by yourself.”
“I just wanted to see the fireworks,” Izuku pouted through the line.
“Why didn't you ask me? I would have come with you.”
“I wanted to,” the man defended. “I wanted us to go together, but—” he sighed sadly, “you said you were busy.”
Eijirou didn't respond and looked over to the beach where Izuku probably was. He could see the crowd of people that had gathered on the sand for the festival, waiting for the night to fall and the fireworks to rise.
“I'm sorry,” he said, his voice softening.
“Oh, it's fine!” Izuku frantically replied. “I'll be going home then—”
“Wait,” Eijirou said before he could hang up. “I'll come.”
“But— didn't you say you were busy?”
“It's fine,” he assured. “Just send me your location and I'll be there.”

When Eijirou arrived at the entrance of the festival, he spotted Izuku sitting on a bench, already waving at him. He marched toward him and graciously held him out his hand.
Izuku chuckled and took it.
“Thank you for coming,” he spoke.
Eijirou smiled as Izuku stood up.
“Let's go,” he said, letting go of the other's hand. “I know a nice spot where we can watch the fireworks.”
He led him through the main walkway, sometimes stopping for Izuku to enjoy the stands.
When it was almost time for the fireworks, he grabbed Izuku's hand and led him to the end of the beach.
“Where are we going?” Izuku asked, as he followed him.
“It's a surprise,” he replied cryptically. “So no question allowed.”
“I don't think that it's recommended to follow a villain without asking questions,” Izuku said. “What if you try to kidnap me?”
“Didn't I do that already?” Eijirou playfully asked.
He heard Izuku's laugh answering him and he couldn't help but feel his heart clutch inside his
chest.
“I'm sorry if you wanted to go there with someone else,” he said. “Once we find Dynamight, you won't have to see me ever again.”
Only silence answered him as he felt that air suddenly become tense as the hand holding his was pulled back. He turned to Izuku who had
stopped in his tracks.
“Izuku?” he asked.
“You don't have to come if you don't want to,” Izuku rasped. “I can go alone.”
“No, you can't!” Eijirou defended. “I have to assure you protection.”
“You don't have to, I can defend myself,” the other said in a cold tone. “I don't
need you.”
“But—”
“—but what?” Izuku shouted and for the first time, Eijirou could see anger taking over his beautiful face.
“You're— you're only a civilian,” he murmured.
Once again, only silence answered him, before a cold laugh broke into the air.
“So that's how it is,”
Izuku said bitterly. “Am I only a civilian to you?”
“Izuku—”
“It's fine,” he interrupted again. “I know you're only hanging out with me because Kacchan asked you to babysit me if something happened to him.”
“But,” Eijirou said carefully, “aren't you hanging out with me because a vigilante asked you to?”
“—” he saw Izuku's mouth move but suddenly a firework exploded in the sky and covered his voice. Anger had left his face, replaced by sadness and frustration.
“Sorry,” he said between two loud bangs. “We're too late for my surprise.”
Izuku sadly smiled, but grabbed his hand again.
“It's fine,” he said. “I know a place.”

That's how they found themselves on top of the same skycraper he had start the night on.
“This is where I usually meet with the vigilante,” Eijirou said as he watched fireworks lighting up the sky. “I didn't know you went there too.”
Izuku's face looked hesitant for a second.
“They showed me this place,” he finally said. “I mean, the vigilante showed me.”
“I see, you two must be great friends,” Eijirou commented. “The guy doesn't seem to trust a lot of people with that kind of things.”
“Do you trust them?”
Eijirou turned his gaze back to Izuku,
caught off-guard. The other wore a serious look on his face, waiting for his answer.
“No,” he replied truthfully, “not really. Well I don't think they trust me either way,” he laughed, but Izuku's face became more somber.
“They do,” he only said before shifting his attention back to the colored sky.
“If you say so,” he shrugged. “But you know, even if you're friends, how I feel about him got nothing to do with you, it's just how he is.”
Izuku didn't respond and kept staring at the fireworks rising through the night.
“It's a nice view,” he finally said, his tone cold again.
“It is,” Eijirou commented, but he couldn't help but stare at the other man.

imma stop here because it was supposed to be fluff and here we are with angst and miscommunication once again
idk when I'll continue this au, it's a scene that's supposed to be in somewhere in the middle of the story where Izuku and Eijirou have already spent a lot
of time together and started to like each other but at the same time, Eijirou's still wary around Izuku's vigilante persona and their investigation only gets dead ends.
After this scene, the vigilante doesn't appear for some times and when he does he's cold
(because of that rooftop conversation but ei doesn't know that lol) and idk what happens next
izuku knocked on katsuki's door, gripping tightly on the magazine in his hand. katsuki's reaction when the paparazzi intruded on them had been so protective he couldn't help but have questions.
katsuki swing opened the door, looking like he had just woken up.
“oh it's you,” he said as his face softened. “come in.”
izuku entered the room and left the magazine on katsuki's desk. the cover was a picture of the kiss they had shared on the stairs at their last date.
The day Katsuki told his childhood friend that, if he wanted to be a hero so badly, he should just pray for a quirk in his next life and take a swan dive off the roof of a building, was the day Midoriya Izuku vanished without a trace.
The only things left were his shoes and a soaked notebook number 13 the police had found next to a lake that only held bitter memories of their former friendship.
An investigation was run but quickly turned into a cold case. As the missing boy was quirkless,
the police concluded it was more likely to be a suicide. Inko held a small ceremony for him, as temporary funerals, waiting for her son's body to return so she could bury him properly.
krdk where pro hero dynamight was kidnapped by a powerful underground villain and vigilante deku and villain blood riot have to team up if they want to rescue him
imagine kiri going back to his empty house only to see a figure waiting for him in the shadows of his living room
“blood riot,” a voice rang as he stepped inside. “nice home you have here.”
“who are you?” eijiro asked, falling into a fighting stance.
“it doesn't matter,” the voice replied. “for most people, i'm only a vigilante, for some others, i'm a villain. a few sometimes call me a hero. truth is, i don't really care about what i am. what you are is more interesting to me.”
