#bkdk, aged up characters, so much love but much more pain, happy and gentle goodbyes, #mcd
They had the type of love that could bring tears to your eyes. Literally.
All their friends were gathered around the hospital bed but still kept a respectable distance from the two.
The room is quiet, filled with emotion so intense, it could suffocate you. It was only the beeps from the machine attached to Izuku that broke the silence.
Ochako was silently sobbing, head nestled under her husband's chin, gripping so hard at Iida's shirt that it was starting
to rip. The bespectacled man wasn't faring any better, trying to keep himself upright. He had to be strong for the both of them.
Kirishima was bawling his eyes out, refusing to look at the scene before him so he could breathe. Fuck, who knew people could feel so much pain for a
story that was not even theirs?
Shouto was probably in the worst state out of all their friends. The dual quirk user was inconsolable. He could barely see with the constant stream of tears that was clouding his eyes and every hitch of breathe he'd hear from Izuku felt like
a physical stab to his chest. Seeing the usually strong Katsuki flinch at that only made the pain worse. These were his best friends for the past five decades.
He was there when they first got together.
Had their first fight.
Even heard about how their first night went.
He spoke at their wedding.
Cried with them when the doctor said Izuku was unable to bear a child.
Laughed with them when they got a dog instead.
And so much more. They have been through heaven and hell together. And he had foolishly thought that it will stay like that until
the end.
But this was real life and it doesn't work like that.
The frail body against the stark white sheets was proof enough of that.
When they all heard the weak giggle from Izuku, they couldn't help but look and watch as the scene in front of them began to unfold.
Weak, freckled hands traced at Katsuki's aged face. His eyes fluttered shut when he felt Izuku touch his greyed out brows, wandering into the bridge of his noise, and then smoothing out the crease between his forehead.
"Still so handsome all these years," the greenette teased.
[TBC]
real quick gotta eat before I bawl my eyes out.
Katsuki chuckles at that, gently taking the hands roaming his face and turning them over in his palms before placing a kiss.
He could tell that Izuku was tired when he saw how his lashes gently fluttered against his cheeks. His freckles have significantly darkened after all
these years and there were lines at the sides of his mouth from a lifetime of smiling and Katsuki couldn't help but admire them.
His husband was still so fucking beautiful at the age of sixty.
And he knows Izuku will stay that way even after today. Angels will have nothing on
him. God will probably be awed by his own ethereal creation too. Katsuki was sure of it.
"You're not too bad yourself," he replied while staring into those shades of green that could make him cry.
Izuku lets our a melodic laugh at that and it had the blonde's heart soaring.
That happines was short-lived though when Izuku started to cough, the burn in his throat so painful it caused him to sit up.
His husband was instantly by his side, rubbing comforting circles on his back while trying very hard not to make the tears stinging at his eyes fall.
"I'm sorry, Kacchan," Izuku says quietly once he was able to breathe again. "Sorry you had to see me like this," the greenette continued with his face hidden between his forever's shoulder.
Katsuki pulls away gently to look at his his misty eyes before holding up his own left
hand and smiling like he did all these years. With a hint of mischief and smugness that tugged at the Izuku's heart.
The simple gold band glistened against the light steaming through the windows.
"I signed up for this," Katsuki starts, voice wavering a little, still proudly
showing off the ring that he had exchanged with Izuku in the presence of their loved ones all those years ago.
"In sickness and in health, Izuku. And I fucking meant that," he gently cradled the side of Izuku's face while carefully carding his fingers through his greying hair.
There was a comfortable silence after that with the pair basking in each other's embrace when Izuku's hold tightened.
"Thank you, Kacchan. For loving me all these years," Izuku says. Even if Katsuki couldn't see him, he knew there was a smile adorning his sickly husband's lips.
The blond couldn't quite do the same. It was so difficult to smile when he felt Izuku slowly losing his strength and he couldn't do anything about it.
"A lifetime isn't enough," Katsuki said as he held his husband tighter. Maybe if he did, he'd have Izuku with him just a little
longer.
"But it's all we have," came the greenette's weak reply. This time, it was him who placed a comforting hand on his husband's back, gently patting him when tremors started to wrack his larger body as he sobbed.
"If we'd have another one, I'd still spend it with you,"
the blonde croaked.
"And I will too..." was Izuku's immediate reply. There was a hitch in his voice before he started to lay down, taking Katsuki with him.
"But, for now, I'm tired," the greenette said with a reassuring calmness despite the numbing that's slowly spreading.
Katsuki still desperately held onto him, inadvertently feeling the life seep out of his husband gradually.
The blonde let out a whimper when he felt Izuku kiss the top of his head.
"I love you, Kacchan."
Viridian eyes slowly fluttered to a close. His lids felt so heavy.
Izuku wants to sleep.
Katsuki let out a sob. Izuku has always been generous with his declarations of love, but Katsuki couldn't say the same for himself.
He wishes, belatedly, that he could. So he'll start now.
"I love you too, Izuku."
But it was a little too late.
End.
Note: To offer any form of consolation, Izuku begs to disagree when Kacchan said he didn't say "I love you" enough. He'd make sure to bring it up once the blonde joins him in heaven.
That's it for now! I woke up in a mood. 😭 But I hoped y'all enjoyed it.
I wanted to write this with a lot more details but my brain is working at 1% capacity. I wanted it to be a little sweeter and I'm sorry if it didn't translate into this thread but I guess I'll just make the next one sweeter! Hehe.
Goodnight, bkdks!

No. Even if they've crossed the line of friendship multiple times, him and Katsuki weren't dating. The various dates that the blonde so openly parades infront of him made that obvious.
But they had a rule.
An unspoken one but respected each and every time. They only shared heats and ruts with one another.
Without fail, the blonde would come knocking on his door, his musky scent more pungent than usual and pupils blown and darkened. Every single time, they surrender their bodies to
each other. An exclusivity that Izuku so foolishly held onto. A dire miscalculation that he chose to blow out of proportion. Because he thought this meant he was special to Katsuki.
His ears were currently ringing, the booming bass of the party at its peak making it worse. But
Katsuki lost all hope of being with Izuku when both of them presented as alphas at 14.
They meet again ten years later at a seedy bar and he had to double take.
Izuku was very obviously enjoying acting like some dumb omega whore on some filthy alphas lap.
It wasn't unheard of. There were alphas out there who enjoyed going against their nature. Opting to be thrown around, dominated and used. Only finding pleasure in the touch of someone much /stronger/.
He gives the familiar male a once over, carmine eyes appraisingly roaming over
Izuku's sinewy body. He looks strong. But Katsuki was stronger.
That little detail sent a jolt of excitement through him. A first. He never felt this way for someone of the same second gender.
He'd only ever gone out with those soft delicate omegas that he could easily break in
Izuku couldn't help but stare. Kacchan was still so devastatingly handsome after all these years, and his traitorous heart never stopped beating for him.
Especially when they're like this.
With the inebriated blonde casually pulling Izuku into his arms.
Izuku tried so hard to stay away. He really did, but it seems like the drunk blonde's inclination to monopolize his childhood friend was something he never grew out of.
"Deku," Katsuki slurred out, nuzzling into the juncture of Izuku's neck and shoulder. The greenette tries to
pull away subtly, hands still affectionately carding through the surprisingly soft spikes of his best friend's hair.
He lets out a soft hum, his quiet way of asking Katsuki to continue.
"You know I love you, right?" the drunk male says like it's the most casual thing in the
As Shoto's best friend, Izuku had the privilege to hang out in the Todoroki household and Enji becomes increasingly endeared by him that, by the end of the year, he's buying little snacks Izuku likes for whenever he comes over plus a pair of bunny slippers.
Plus if he gives a /tiny/ push for Shoto and Izuku to fall in love (because he wants the Midoriya cuteness to infiltrate his bloodline) and he "accidentally" sets up candle lit dinners and lock them in the pantry room. But they really are just friends so he sulks until Izuku
promises to adopt a dog with Shoto and now that dog is the most spoiled animal in the world and Izuku is in their house 50% more.
Izuku grows fond of Enji too, even crying to Shoto one day about him finally experiencing what having a dad feels like as they cuddle to sleep.
